    Default steal with 55 - then multiway all in againt the blinds < pot equity check

    iPoker - $0.04 NL - Holdem - 10 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    UTG+1: $4.60
    MP: $5.65
    MP+1: $2.00
    MP+2: $4.29
    LP: $5.01
    CO: $3.07
    Hero (BTN): $8.11
    SB: $0.96 ( 0/0 over 1 . just sat down 2nd hand)
    BB: $2.00 (17/11 over 65)

    UTG: $1.72

    SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.04

    Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero has 5 5

    fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.12, SB raises to $0.96, BB raises to $2.00

    Hero ?

    Ive given this range { JJ+, AKs, AKo }because I have to start somewhere.

    Equity Win Tie
    BU 23.56% 23.44% 0.11% { 5d5h }
    SB 38.22% 35.26% 2.96% { JJ+, AKs, AKo }
    BB 38.22% 35.26% 2.96% { JJ+, AKs, AKo }

    If i attempt an all in calculation , I get .

    pot =3.14
    bet size= 1.96
    our equity 23.56 VERSE pot equity = 38.43

    So its a fold ?

    I read recently , in the Science of Poker that medium pocket pairs do well multiway.

    Fold.

    SB and BB are small stacked you don't have the implied odds to call.

    Have you thought about why this is? It is very situational; position, villains post flop tendencies, stack size etc are all crucial. To state the obvious; dont do something bc you read it somewhere without understanding why!

    they do well multi-way in single raised pots, not in all-in PF spots against players with tight/strong ranges

    Insta fold all day sir! Read up on 5/10 rule and it will help you out. jyms also did a good video for Grinder School back in the day that I found really helpful about player small pp's.

    Even thinking about implied odds here is wrong since it's an all-in situation (implied odds are based on the money you could be getting out of future betting, and here there will obviously not be any future betting here).

    To calculate this properly multiway, you have to revert to EV equations because it's multiway with different effective stack sizes. To do this, you can use the 3-way equities for the part of the pot that is common to the three of you, but then you have to use your heads up equity against BB for the sidepot against him.

    However for a quick shortcut in this case, pretend that you are heads up against one of them, you can see that your equity is about 33.3%, but your pot odds are > 40% in each case, so it's definitely very -EV to call here (in other words: your EV against SB is negative AND your EV against BB is negative too, so the sum of EV's is very negative...)

    Against that range, you're flippping a coin against 16 AK combos, but you're completely crushed (20% equity) against 24 combos. So a quick estimate of your equity yields (16*50%+24*20%) / (16+24)=32%

    The players are all-in which I think you may have missed.

    But yeah just fold to their shoves and thank you for taking the time to analyze it!

    Hero raises to $0.12, SB raises to $0.96, BB raises to $2.00, fold

    SB shows J A
    BB shows K A
    BB wins $1.91

    Thats a nice way of breaking it down, two smaller chunks , un-muddies the water.

    Equity Win Tie
    BU 53.96% 53.73% 0.23% { 5s5c }
    BB 46.04% 45.81% 0.23% { AKs, AKo }

    Equity Win Tie
    BU 19.39% 19.18% 0.21% { 5s5c }
    SB 80.61% 80.40% 0.21% { JJ+ }

    Thanks all for your inputs
