    Default 5NL-Boat after River

Villian is 25/5/??? over about 40 hands. This was my 4th hand at the table so the only read was from PT.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    CO ($5.26)
    Button ($5)
    SB ($10)
    BB ($3.84)
    Hero (UTG) ($5)
    MP ($9.98)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 3, 3
Hero calls $0.05, MP calls $0.05, 2 folds, SB calls $0.03, BB checks

    Flop: ($0.20) A, 3, 5 (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.25, MP calls $0.25, 2 folds

At this point I put him on Ax or a flush draw and maybe staight

    Turn: ($0.70) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.55, MP calls $0.55

I figured he hit the straight

    River: ($1.80) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.05, MP raises to $3, Hero ???

I believe this is definitely a push. Should I have push after Turn? or after flop?

Alright, I'm gonna be an ass and ask:

Why do you believe this is definitely a push?
What are the merits of shoving the turn or open shoving the river?

Why would I not push? Because of pot odds or something else? I really don't understand

Which brings up a question I've been wanting to ask. Under what circumstances do I push?

Here's the reason for my post. I really can't figure out how you think about the game. I believe your approach is clearly flawed and I want to know how.

If you're answer is "why would I not push?" it's not a very good approach for understanding these hands.

I promise this isn't to embarrass you or make you feel small but something constructive.

I'm not worried about being embarassed or feeling small. That's one thing I like about this site. No candy coating at all.

I'm not sure how to answer the question. I guess I push because I have the best hand and I want to take villian's money. I only have a little over half my stack left when he bets on the river.

That's why I asked the question "Under what circumstances do I push?"

You push when either your opponent can fold better or he can call with worse. In this case, he can call with a lot of worse hands, so you jam.

Really don't understand why when something seems to go wrong, you ask if you should have just pushed on earlier streets.

    Gotcha.

What I'm asking is whether I played the hand correctly. Did I bet like a bitch? Should I have done something differently?

And another thing... Stop answering my questions with a question. You're making me think too much
