New the Online Arena

Hello,

I just recently decidced to try out the world of online poker. I have a lot of experience live with local games and games at college. I play weekly 1/2nl cash games and 20-30 dollar sit and gos live. I didn't have immediate access to a credit card that will support online poker so I had my friend transfer me 10 dollars on stars. I played a few SNGs at the 1 dollar level then a couple 5 dollar SNGs and my BR is now a 50 dollars.

My question is, what is the best way to go about making money quickly with respect to my bankroll? I feel that my tournament game is much better than my cash game but from everything I have been told and have read cash makes more money. Is this true? My ROI after about 12 games in around 75 percent (I know 12 is a very, very, small sample), but then I again I might have just been getting a good run of cards. If I were to play cash games, at the .01/.02 or .02/.05 level should I do 6 max or full ring? And how many tables should I be running at each. I am completely new to multitabling as I have been an exclusively live player.

I'm pretty new but I'd have to agree that cash games are better than tournaments money-wise. Tourney play is just so complex with getting to the top, while in cash games each hand is a seperate thing. I wont try to get too deep in the differences though, because I am not so hot at SnGs :P

I personally prefer 6max tables right now. There's higher variance, but I find the post-flop play more interesting/exploitable/educational. I'd stick to only one or two tables for at least a little while, because it's easy to make silly mistakes with too much going on (mostly when you have more than one big hand going on.) I usually play one table to focus on my game, but also sometimes I just get bored and start playing looser so I open up another table. But, again, I haven't been playing that long.
