Good place to find dirt cheap airline tickets?

Going from Detroit to New York to see my sister this summer, there is like a 100 different flight ticket search engines. What are some good ones or some good ways to get tickets.

there probably isnt a whole lot of good deals right now because of the high gas prices. just check the standard search engines (expedia, etc) a couple times a week for a few weeks. ticket prices fluctuate like whoa.

stay away from unknown sites with apparently incredible deals. there was an airline ticket scam on the news here just recently about fraudulent sites that take your monies.

i find that cheaptickets.com is the best one consistently.

If you're willing to take a shitty flight do priceline and the name your own price thing. You can get some pretty weird flights (Cedar Rapids to Syracuse anyone, lol) for cheap.
