Bad run with premium hands.

Default Bad run with premium hands.

I seem to be having a bad run at the moment and it seems that when I'm dealt a decent hand it gets stomped on. Here's a small sampling of a few of them from the last week. Any suggestions for improvement would be greatly appreciated, otherwise, have a good laugh on me.

All of the tournaments are $1.00 on PS. The 45 Player ones are mostly the 100K Sats. (Does anyone play these? Is it me or have they got tougher lately?)

Just one of those things. Not sure I'd have played it differently though.

Villians initial raise felt like a steal. I definitely didn't believe he had AA, KK or AK or he'd have pushed my PF raise, so I bet just enough on the flop to make chasing a bad decision. Either way I was quite happy to get it in before the Turn.

The plan on this one was to try and induce a raise by limping. I needed to go AI and win to have any chance of winning.

I think CO played this badly calling off a big chunk of his stack into an EP re-raise. Post flop I don't think either player can justify their calls as I'd given every indication I was holding a overpair.

Villain here had won a 4-way AI earlier in the tournament with KJs, so I didn't have too much respect for his play. (I'd post the hand, but can't find it.)

    Variance... what an ugly bitch...

If you have the stomach for it, read some of the posts by experienced FTR posters where they talk about going on 40 BI downswings...

True, gator, but my advice is to get PokeEV (free download, add-on to PT). Look at your "luck" graphs. You'll find that you've won when you shouldn't have, too. Over time (40k+ hands), the luck evens out. The rest is all trying not to suck.

    Now i'm having database problems...

How did you get it to recognize the PT database? I'm running PT v3.00 beta 4... wonder if that's my problem...

    ldo

Hell, I finished second in a tourney today where I made at least two suckouts and was victim to two others. I know it happens, its poker. I was reiterating the fact that this thread belongs in the Bad Beat forum as there is minimal content in it.

Does this strike anyone else as a great time for a check/call line on the flop? Seems like a major WA/WB situation to me. And if you are ahead, the most outs your opp is likely to have is 3 (89 aside and not necessarily in opps range anyway).

Yeah, I don't think the add-ons like Poker Grapher and PokerEV have been updated to PT3, yet. PT3 uses a different database architecture (SQL instead MS Access) which is FASTER (yay!! - that's one problem with PT and big databases, it was very sloooooooooowwwww).

It won't take long for everything to be updated, though. PT3 full version is slated for full release any day now, and the updated PAHUD has been in development side-by-side with Pat's team of PT3'ers.

All the add-ons will probably have new versions out by the end of March, if PT3 gets release in the next couple of weeks.
