Default Poll for your preferred hand.

I am curious as pocket 10s get crushed so easily.

You just don't get it do you?

    Position?
    Stack sizes?
    Villains stats?

    They matter.

By the way, TT is the 5th best hand in poker out of 169
  6. #6
It's profitable, just not in the way you think... and it's difficult to play!

Lol, it's just a fun question.

Though I forgot to make the topic clear. Amended.,

As asked there is still no doubt TT is the only choice.

Out of all the hands you listed, TT is the least likely to be crushed. You know that you have the best 10. AT is crushed by A J/AQ/AK/AA. J10 is crushed by A J, A 10, K J, K1o, Qj and Q 10. Are we getting it all in preflop here or what?

I think he means you can be crushed with only two outs if a J, Q, K or A hit.

Because you have 2 ways to make a flush instead of just one way, LDO

when are people going to learn the finer points of poker like this!
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

It can be anything you want. Tourney, cash, all in pf, UTG, CO.

It's one of those hands that is strong but also very vulnerable. Many a time I have won but also lost too. And don't feel comfortable unless I hit a set.

Eg: 10J soooooted, gives flush & straight outs as well as an even higher pair.

Like I said, it was just a fun, curious little poll to see how many would prefer the strongest of the starting hands (1010) to any other.

Even three weeks ago, TJ's post would have gone over my head. I've really been working on postflop planning prior to preflop betting these last few sessions. And I've made some laydowns I wouldn't have a month ago pre because it just didn't seem worth it. And I've attacked in places I wouldn't have before - getting more successful every session. Reads, position, stack sizes - they matter right from the beginning.

Check these two hand histories: both TT hands for stacks. And everything TJ said mattered pre in both hands. I LOVE TT

By the way, I play TT 99% of the time and I fold the other 4 hands in the poll about 95% of the time.

I prefer Qh3c - both middle of the broadway and wheel draw, dual suited for the heart and club flush draws, and Q33 flops ALL the time on stars.

TT is my biggest winner at 25NL over the last 4000 or so hands.

    Winnerpeg Winterpeg... I hate Winnipeg...

    Default What about QQ?

Statistically my worst hand is QQ... its not even close to my next biggest spew. I would think that suggests (not proves, although i'm sure i won't have many people argue) that postflop play is so damn important, and that good (not fantastic, QQ and TT would be similar) pocket cards can flip the stupid switch and make you overplay your hand, cuz "I deserved to win, i got dealt QQ after all!" Fuck, i'm terrible...

All in preflop - not hard to figure out that TT would be the favourite, but a good postflop player would kick himself in the balls sixty one times before going AI with it from UTG or EP (probably almost any position, really)...
I'm not addicted to blackjack. I'm just addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.

But of course, TT gives you TWO SHOTS at a royal.

    Never mind....
Sue me if I play too long....

I was at a $100 min home ring game, and some guy sucked out on me for about $700 after he called my AA all in pre with JTs, then told me that he knew I had aces. He said "JTs has statistically the best chance to crack aces."

    I rebought immediately.
