Value betting

Some clarification here please.
Not too sure if i do it sort of well without thinking or if im not sure what it is.

A value bet is a bet that you make that a worse hand will call, thereby giving you "value" for your bet.

For example if I am heads-up on the end and I bet into my opponent with top pair and he calls with middle pair, I have made a value bet.

You can also value bet draws. Say there are 5 players seeing the flop. The flop is JTx with 2 hearts and I have AKs hearts. Though I don't likely have the best hand now, if I bet and everyone calls, it is still a value bet, because I am going to win at showdown more than 20% of the time (which would be the breakeven point).
