K-10 before flop

how play hands like K-10 suited or QJs before the flop....raise? and if so how much should u bet....should u just limp in and hope for a favorable flop? i always see myself raising and gettin an ace on every flop with these hand.... any suggestions please

There isn't a definite way to play those hands, really depends on the situation. I'd list what I'd do in different situations but I'm too lazy.

Tournaments or ring games? In tournaments I raise to limit the field (and increase the chance that if I hit I'm the only one or the chance that a follow-up bluff will win me the pot) with the idea of building a stack. In ring games, under most circumstances these hands aren't worth a raise - you can wait for better hands to come along. Also, I'll typically fold them to almost any raise before me*.

*As always in poker, the real answer is "it depends." I remember a hand with KTo wherein a player that I had a strong bluff read on went all-in preflop to a raised pot. Everyone else in it folded. I called. He turned over a couple of small crappy cards and I ended up winning with top pair. About a $10 profit, if I recall

I don't see anything wrong with playing Q-J or K-J. You're not likely to win huge pots with them, but they're at least worth calling the big blind with. I've won plenty of medium-sized to small pots with these hands, and I've never lost a big one.
