Default Correct play from BB against a fish?

    I played from BB pos.
    Dealt 68o

2 or 3 players limped in
    I checked.

    The flop: 7 A 6 rainbow

I bet 2xBB to see were i stood in the pot.

The fishy guy called... Everyone else folded.

    The turn: 7 A 6 9

I checked, hoping to se the river cheap or for free.

    Fish bets...

The odds of getting a 6, 8 or T just cleared the call, so I called...

The River: 7 A 6 9 T (No possible flush on the table)

    I Bet 8xBB...

    He raised to 12xBB...

What should I do here? (I will tell you later what I did)

    Default ??

are you worried about J8? Cause if what im seeing is correct its an automatic call. Fish looks like he maybe had two pair or Aces

Knowing nothing more than what you've written above, I would say call as well. Depending on your read, if you were sure that he didn't have J8, you could re-reraise, or possibly go all-in. Since you don't mention such a read, I'd go with the call.

I'm guessing by the fact that you're positing this that he either had J8 and you raised or he had nothing to speak of and you feel you should have raised...

I would say to call also. Not sure where your stack was, or what the BB was.....but its only 4X's more than you originally bet. You're already pot committed, at least for seeing one more card......so I say call.

I would call all day long. If he played J8, well you are going to give him a lot of chips. Either way, the fish that play these hands will eventually pay you off in the long run.
If you put all your faith in the river, you are up shit's creek

    Here is the answer:

The River: 7 A 6 9 T (No possible flush on the table)

    I Bet 8xBB...

    He raised to 12xBB...

Because I was worried of him having J8, I only called...

Showdown: Fish had J8s.. (Sh-t happens)

If he had gone all in I would probebly loosed most of my stack... So I guess I was lucky...

Hard to say without more of a read on the other player but in general I would probably be raising here. You have the second highest possible hand and the highest possible is very unlikely. Sure he had it in this instance but in general a fish is more likely to have two pair or set here.

Honestly I would have lost my stack here. I would have re-raised all in. How can you put him on the nuts with the flop and turn betting?

I would have figured him for either of two hands: aces with a weak kicker, or possibly aces and tens on the river. There's no reason to think he's got the nut straight. I would have re-raised all in, because he didn't seem like he was ready to let his hand go, and based on the betting you have him dominated.

All in all, his flop call was incredibly fishy. Take a note on this guy. Next 4 times in this exact situation, you're taking his stack if you re-raise all in on the river.
