Default NO LIMIT RING GAME QUESTION

Ok, lets say I limp with a hand like TQ in mid position, and I flop top pair, but someone I dont have a read on bets before me. He could have flopped two pair, hit a set, or have me with a bigger kicker. What do I do, normally I would fold because I know he atleast has something so why get in a battle with someone who probably has me beat when I can just wait another time. But that might just be the passiveness part of my game which everyone says I need to rid of. So is this the right thing to do?

How much does he bet? A min bet, I would reraise between half pot size and pot size and watch what he does. If his hand is weak, maybe he´ll fold to your bet. If he reraises, you know you should fold. If he calls, it´s a little bit more tricky, but you have position on him on the turn and the river and he has no clue how good your hand is, he is probably afraid. If he bets pot sized or near, I would fold.

I like Waggho's advice but also I think you really need a read on him. I've seen it before on this site: No read, no call.

He could be just being aggressive or, like you said yourself, flopped top pair with better kicker or a set - anything really without a read.

Probably not a bad idea to lay that down and wait for a better hand than just top pair.
