No Online Money Prizes in Florida?

Hey guys,

I just started playing online and have been playing free games to better understand the software. I am playing at PokerStars.net and recently tried to enter a free satellite tournament to compete for a prize package. I was denied entry because "PokerStars does not offer Real Money tournaments in my area." I live in Florida and know that there are plenty of players down here that play online.

Am I going to encounter this problem with every online poker site?

It's probably just because you're in the United States. PokerStars doesn't offer real money anything to US players as far as I know.

Only certain sites still allow US players.

It really depends on what your looking for.

Since i'm not sure if you'll ever even check your post i won't get all preachy.

1. Are you going to want to run a HUD(Poker Tracker/Hold'em manager)?

2. If you had $50 on a site, what stakes would you be playing?

3. Are you going to play every night, or maybe just on the weekends?

Just use this forums Poker Rooms tab at the top of this screen, and it will show you available poker sites that let US players win real money. Download from the provided FTR links and you are on your way to winning some real cash.
