    Default Tricky river?

After lurking in the shadows for a little over a month now, I've decided to commit to putting time into becoming a better player. Starting with reviewing some hands. I'm currently playing $5NL. After playing in the $200 FTR Freeroll, I hopped on a table and button had just rolled around so i posted. No reads on Villains. I think I play too passive after the boat turns. Should I have just lead into them. After villain shoves the 3b on river, should we make the call or is it spewy?

I play it passively because this is going to be a split so often, any betting is raising the rake.

You can quickly throw together a little math to figure out how often he has to have an A for you to call here assuming his range is A's and J's only.

Also don't post the big blind out of position. (As an aside, you shouldn't do it in full ring either. Your blind money per hand estimates that try to justify it assume no one will leave the table before your first hand in the real big blind, and that's your mistake in your calculation.)

As Spoon said don't post a big blind oop, just wait until it gets to you.

Secondly why do we check pre flop, we have a decent hand in position despite posting and can take down the blinds with a raise.
