Default NAPT -Los Angeles Sat: Freeroll Round 1 US/CA

I just got eliminated from this Tournament. My personal goal was not to Win obviously but it was to not be elimanted first and I know I was not elimanted first becasue 4 other Players before me were at least at my table. I lost to Trip 6's when I had two pair J and 6. Still don't know all the terms but I'll give it my best shot.

Everyone folded to the dealer who called as well as the SB and me in the BB I (Hero) checked with J2UN

Flop: 6J6 Rainbow my stack was $815 I tried to end it quick and ended up trapping myself I bet $500. First person out of the blind (Villian put me all in. I knew he had that third 6 but I called it anyways and the rest is history. I'm really glad that I got the experience of on online Tournament and I hope to do it again once I learn a lot more about Tournament Play. Sorry for once again having a messy post but I'm still learning.

does UN mean unsuited? For future reference we use the letter o, for offsuite. I want to know the size of the blinds, and I see a lot of things wrong with betting that flop, but I don't think that this is the time to say them. Also I don't see why you would bet 500 with only 815 in your stack. Usually in situations where you're left *pot committed* you should usually just go all in or don't bet at all.

What were the blinds at during the game you just described? I suggest avoiding large pots at the beginning of any tournament. Try playing "pot control" early on to avoid losing your whole stack.

A hand like J 2 is not a good starting hand to begin with. Although you were in the BB I would have checked the hand to the other players. Even though you have top pair, your kicker is so weak, so anybody holding a J has you dominated and the situation gets even worse obviously with somebody holding the third 6.

I'm inching closer and closer. Out of the 7,978 Players that Registered for the Tournament I finished 224. Not something to brag about seeing as the Top 99 make it to the Next Round but for someone like me that is still learning I'm pretty happy. Here is a trascript of my last hand of the Tournament. Please let me know what I did wrong. Thanks.

FWIW dimaline, this thread really belongs in the MTT forum. That way our MTT virtuosos like Drmcboy and Mcatdog will look at it and laugh at your grammar and spelling mistakes.

    By the way.

Are you kidding me. You enter tournaments for the express purpose of losing?

Yes, this def was very obvious.

Just post & fold, you'll beat 40% of the field. JFC.

Not to be harsh or anything man. But your mindset is wrong, your approach to learning is wrong, everything about this thread is wrong. It's even in the wrong forum.

If you don't think you can win a tournament, don't enter it. What exactly are you trying to prove by "not being the first one to bust"? Does this make you better than the first person to bust in that tournament?

1 Sorry I don't know how to convert it. No one has taught me that.
    2. Sorry for the Spelling and Grammar Mistakes. When I say Un I mean Off Suit.
    3. I don't know all of these initials like FWIW or MTT.
    4. Of couse I want to win but for someone like me that again is STILL LEARNING the game I feel I have to set goals. I can't go into my 1st Online Poker Tournament with 10,000 Registered Players and expect to win. Especailly when I know most of them have got to be playing longer than I have and are a lot more educated about the game than I am. I always want to Win. But I have to set small goals in order to achieve my ultimate goal. Maybe that is a wrong way of thinking and if it is I ask that you all help me to get better. I'm reading books, articles and everything I can get my hands on. I'm playing daily and trying to learn and be better but I admit I do need help so instead of trying or not trying to be harsh. Help me out.

Two of your biggest mistakes you are making is thinking people in freerolls are better than someone just learning and also not spending more time reading our forums. Go to the MTT forum if you like tourneys and read Soupies guide it's long but you will be better than anyone in any freeroll armed with that knowledge alone.

In MTTs, you can't miss blinds by sitting out; so post & fold refers to posting your blinds & folding every hand.

    Oh, Ok Thanks.
