Flush Chasing Call Stations

In particular, the ones that do not / will not / cannot fold. These are the people that will call all-in before the river and pray.

I seem to lose the most hands / money to these people, and it is becoming increasingly frustrating. I try to spot them before I start playing at a table, and when I find one, I normally find somewhere else to play.

What is the best way to deal with these people?

Use proper bankroll management, and shove when you know they will call with a draw.

calling stations are a great source of poker profits.
Deal with it, learn to beat them, learn to maximise value from their chasing tendencies.

or maybe move up where people will respect your raises, i hear that 100nl and 200nl on Full Tilt have a few less calling stations. See you there.

if they ever ever ever bet, they have something. put him on a range and decide how your fair against it. the majority of the time, it's fine to just fold.

so, you could make money off of these people by ALWAYS betting TPMK or better and ALWAYS folding when they bet (not saying that maximizes against them, just illustrating how friggin easy it is to play these people).

Get the stick out of your ass, I'm here in the Beginners Circle for a reason. I'm losing money to these guys because the fact that Im favored != guaranteed win. You should be done being an asshat right about now.

You don't have to be guaranteed to win to make money. If you are a favorite, then that means you will win more often than you will lose, which is obviously a profitable situation.

Being favored does not guarantee you'll win money overall. You have to bet enough to price out the draws. That's what pot odds is about. If you don't bet enough to price out the calling stations, you'll win more hands than you lose, but you won't make a profit because your total money (or chips) lost will exceed your total money won.

playing against stations can be kinda frustrating when you're a beginner because you still have that competitive instinct to win win win. and winning feels like it should mean taking down a whole bunch of pots and winning a bunch of hands. but really it's about winning money.

so variance against stations feels so harsh when you're a beginner, but really it's like variance in limit. you can go a bunch of hands without ever winning a pot, but really you're not really losing that much money. because stations' biggest leak is that they win small pots and lose big ones.

so, yeah, flop top pair, bet it hard, win money. never bluff and always fold marginal hands whenever they come alive and start betting. ez game

I quickly learned not to call along with flush draws if you're priced out. I treat nut flush draw on the flop like top set on a flush draw flop; bet your arse off it, and raise to high hell. More often than not, they go "shitmotherfuck" and fold. I reckon I get folds around half the time at the flop when I play my flush draw aggressively, so I actually consider nut flush draw to be favourite against most hands, provided it's played well.

No doubt many will think I'm crazy, but hey, bollocks to you, I win money with flush draws.
