I always seem to do this sh!t. The guy was a LAGG. i put him on a flush draw. I was obviosly wrong. He was LAGG preflop but post flop a good player. I just really felt like he was weak and i thaught i could use my table image to win this hand with a bluff. I always do spewy type a sh!t like this lol. I geuss i'm posting this spew move because i always seem to do this at the wrong time. When is the correct time to pull stuff like this off? Should i even be trying to pull this off at 2nl? or should i just be kinda nitty? as you can see he checked is rockets because he respected my bet and put fear in him because he knew iwasnt going to do that with air. lol or at least he thaught he knew. I dont do this ofton, just when i feel i have it and can pull it off. God i wish a ten hit and saved my ass. lol, no miracles on 5th st for me. I gave up after he called, when he called i knew he wasnt on the flush draw, he was a good enough post flop player where he would have folded his draw. ahhhh whatever

    dude, it's 2nl.
    1) he's not a LAGG
    2) he's not good post flop
    3) he very rarely has a flush draw. If you think he has a flush draw, then that makes your flop call even worse than it already is.
    4) at 2nl it's unlikely that a 3-bet from the blinds followed by a solid c-bet is anything weaker than an overpair to this flop.
    5) you don't need to bluff on expensive streets at 2nl
    6) he probably checked the river thinking you were stupid enough to bet the river if checked to. I doubt he was scared that you had QQ.
    7) calling 3-bets pre with dominated hands is meh

So because its 2nl nobody is good postflop?

I floated the flop because i knew he would double barrel on a draw or even with a 10-10.

It wasnt even really a 3bet, a guy min-raised and then he raised that, it was a half ass 3-bet. I probably should have 3bet him.

#6 i dont agree with you at all, but its nice that you would think that.

#7 I could have easily had him dominated PF, He was loose PF.

I believe i should have thaught about his range more, i didnt really think about it long. I tottaly agree with #5. Theres really no point in bluffing like this. Oh to anwser your question i dont know why, i geuss i just like to lose money making bad bluffs or something.

ok, in the world at any stakes there are very few players who are good postflop. I definitely don't count myself among them. It's an aspiration of mine, one day, maybe....

Which suggests that the few good post-flop players that do exist are unlikely to be at 2nl.

Depends on your criteria for "good postflop" though I guess. It's a bad mindset thinking that 2nl players are good, cos then people consider themselves good if they're as good or a little better than those 'good' players and stop improving as quickly as they could/should.

Wasn't meant to be a personal attack.

6 - I don't mean that I think you're stupid. Put yourself in his shoes if you hold QQ/AA here. Would you check the river and let villain bet? Based on earlier streets this doesn't seem as awful as it might initially.

7 - perhaps you could have had him dominated PF, is your line good based on this - on any street?!?

#6 no i wouldnt have checked, i would have valuebet the river, or possably shoved the turn if i was him.

Yes i do get it, i knew that when i posted it. I just posted this to punish myself so i stop doing this dumb shit. Get a few people to tell me im a moron for doing it for it to really sink in. I know nobody here will hesitate on doing that.

i do spewy shit like this too, the best advice i have read in the last 2 days for dealing with micros:

    1. No FPS- Fancy Play Syndrome, i think this is a clear example of that gone wrong
    2. ABC Poker- i had heard that used a lot but never really knew EXACTLY what it meant, until McMutt put it into perspective, Bet when you have it, Check/fold when you don't...its not as exciting but you get a lot more money that way

How about a couple of important whys here. Why this is a terrible play. First, if he's so laggy, why not 4-bet preflop? You've got position and if he's so loose, he'll likely continue pretty wide. If he's got trash here a lot, you pick up a decent pot right away. Second, you obviously can't put someone squarely on a flush draw. But let's say, for arguments sake, his range was heavily weighted toward a flush draw. Will he call your turn raise with a flush draw? Not likely. Will he call with tp, an overpair, or a set? Most of the time, yes. So your turn raise is likely getting the portion of his range you are ahead of to fold. If you have such a strong read on him and are absolutely convinced he's on a flush draw, let him bet the turn and river. But I agree with Daven, a blind 3-bet combined with the flop/turn action puts his range way ahead of you. And not just at 2nl, but 5nl, 10nl, 25nl...

yes it does put his range ahead of me, like i said he could and ive seen him fire 2 bullets with sht, i felt like i could get away with a steal. i didnt spend enough time adding up all the info. I should have 3bet his wimpy 3bet. I didnt. I shouldnt have continued with the hand, i could have tried to float but the second he fired out of position again (the turn) i should have tossed it. I didnt really spend time on his range. i could go on and on about all the sht i should of done, could of done, but instead i'm just going to do it next time, and work on stopping the "i feel" i can steal this. bet 100bb into a -EV situation. Good grief.

Im opedipus bitch, the original balla.
You can't 3bet his wimpy 3bet. He 3bet, if you were to re-reraise, it would be considered a 4bet. And to be more technical and cold 4bet to be exact because you weren't the one that he 3bet.
