Thanks for the advice. Rebuys are ok but they could get expensive if you don't get to the final table. Valium??? I won't take anything like that.

Not Rebuys.... rebuy! if you lose patience you will get stacked, so....rebuy, or don't lsoe your patience. As for poker books, there are 1400590 articles on this forum about that very topic. Maybe a scroll is in order.

If your getting badbeat after badbeat,then best to leave poker out for a day or 2 is my advice.But if you mean loosing patience during a game,I wait and not play until i`m dealt AA KK or AK suited in position on the gun or last to bet,anything else even the ladies and specially the hooks I won`t play,these are hands that you will continue to bet the pot or go all in with everytime.this really either will get you back in the game and reset your patience spring or If you still don`t start to win with these cards and you don`t get dealt any,then you should try changing poker room,or do something else that you can feel rewarded for ,like beat up something in animate,or may be listen to music ,watch a good film, have sex!!! or get enlightened by some poker blogs and stories,this may teach you more patience than you may have already.I tell myself that I am the patient person in the world and if in doubt then fold!!

I would have to agree with what most people are stating here... sometimes it is just not your day to win... you hit your set they get their boat... Just look at Mike Matisow... he blows up and loses it... I think he could be a much better player if he just plays like a robot... Just don't ever let the frustration get to you... once that enters your veins... its just a matter of time your bankroll starts to dissapear...

The best lube for these situations is having it happen to you at least twice a day for the past 1 million hands. You eventually learn that it will happen to you a lot and that it doesn't affect your winrate.

What does affect your winrate is tilting off 5 buy-ins after one bad beat because you became impatient.

So how do we become more patient? We view bad beats the same way we view big pots that we win.. with complete indifference.

Feeling any emotion about any hand more than 2 seconds after its over is tilt. (because we've moved on to the next hand and emotion and good decisions aren't good bed fellows)
