First, is this an SNG or MTT?

Second, I don't think calling the minbet is correct. You're putting ~12% of your stack in a small/medium pocket pair and you're going to see a flop with it. What if the flop comes almost anything without a 7? If the flop comes something like KT4, and your opponent leads the flop, if you don't have a good read then you fold.

The problem is that because the Ms are so small, you don't have the implied odds to make calling with the 7s a +EV decision I think.

Something else to take into consideration is that preflop there are five people to act after you. What happens if they reraise? If you fold, then you've pissed away a nice chunk of your stack. If you call any amount, you're left with like half your stack or less to play with after the flop, which sucks. If you push all-in, you have basically no fold equity, and you're behind to the range of hands someone would reraise with after a minraise and a caller.

It's cool that you hit your set and got all your money in on that board on the turn, but just remember it's a 1-to-7.5 shot to hit your set on the flop, so what happens the other 6.5 times? You lose chips and money.

    As for post flop play,

You have to get all your money in here and it seemed to work so I don't think you could have played it any differently

Preflop I would have reraised or folded. I think calling here is a bad move. You should try and either win the hand preflop or let it go
Sometimes the nuts just get crushed

I think calling is fine if you expect other people behind you to call too. But I'm not sure. Problem is that raising is almost no option here, since then you are playing 77 for pair value.. and folding kinda sucks too..

    No hindsight for the blind.
I push or fold this preflop, depending on reads. Postflop I might push the flop, minraise flop, call flop/push turn or whatever I think will get as much chips in the middle as possible.

Edit: misread blind level. I think I fold preflop, any raise is going to commit me and I just don't like flat calling in tournaments .

    Thanks for all the input.

This was a 45 person SNG turbo, $6 buy-in. My reasoning for calling with this hand was that i was carddead up until now, i was glad to see the 7's. Also the blinds are going up fast, you can't wait around for great hands. Figured he minraised from UTG, ok - high cards flop im done with the hand, plus 200 chips in a turbo tourney is nothing. I hoped id spike a set and be able to make alot of chips to be able to bully a bit for the blinds that will be higher in the coming minutes.
