    Default Optimal strategy

    Tournament at local casino.
5 rounds between 19-24h. Each round has 10 players, first 2 go to final (final at 12h). First 4 get paid.
Stacks are 300 chips. Blinds are 10/20, after 30 mins 20/40, last 3 hands start after 45mins met 50/100 blinds.

Optimal strategy for this? I try to limp with almost anything if it's possible and just go all-in pf with AA/KK/QQ/AK/AQ/AJ.

Push poker like SnG Turbos. Good luck with that lottery. Where's the skill edge?
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I hope it's in the final.. Didn't make it so far though

Anyway, there's no rake, you'll get a free drink and snacks, so it's +EV

I have one like that in my town. You start with 250 chips and blinds start at 10/20. I sat across from a guy that plays 1000NL and higher on Party, as well as competing in WPT events. He went out fairly quick.

The trick to these things is to Gamble. Pick your spots and go for it. Don't sit around and wait for good cards. Make steals, and push good hands hard. Hope for the best. It's like being ambushed by 100 enemies from the other side in a war. Just come out gunning and find no shame in getting shot to death, as opposed to rotting in a prison camp.

I like your analogy.. Yes, it's just pushing any edge real hard and hope for some luck.. I lost again today, my only mistake was probably to try a limpraise with AQ UTG (hand around the 30 min mark and almost every hand before got raised..). The 300$ I made at the roulette afterwards + lots of beer was fun though

    I'm drunk now.

I didn't know that poker players played roulette. Please tell me you don't have a system =)

Roullette wasn't much different than the tournament structure he got caught up in.

Played a tourney last weekend in Lake Tahoe...Reached the final by pushing good cards. Blinds doubled every 15 minutes and top 5 made money. The blinds went from 8000/4000 to 16000/8000 right in front of me and I blinded out to finish on the bubble. Point being, the edge on skill is only relative in the first few rounds and then it is up to the Poker Gods. These tourneys in general are -EV especially when you consider the B&M casino fees you also have to pay up.
