[5NL] KQo OOP. Flop raise and continuation on turn.

Villain was 37/18/0 (3bet) through 93 hands. Fold to cbet 25%, 2/8. First time I had seen him raise on flop, usually called.

Only notes I had on villain was he defended his blinds with some strange hands, Q9o, 94s. Had seen him bet bottom pair on turn and c/c river with Q9o.

Not sure if he is spewing here? No real draws out there so only hands I have to worry about really are AK and sets?

I guess he could have KQ/KJ but seems unlikely.

he seems like a laggy fish so he could have a hand as bad as K9 or whatever. Folding seems absurd. I probably just call down. Calling his flop raise is probably best too as opposed to 3betting and possibly losing some Kx hands and his total airballs, although I have a feeling we would get plenty of value from KT or whatever by 3betting.

Your question is on the flop :/ If the right move was to call then, its probably still to call.

Fwiw, i think his range is like...sets and 43. 52s isnt absurd since hes has 94s before. Your notes seem to imply hes generally passive post flop too.

I think flops a fold.

Its the first time hes raised a cbet though. He typically calls down it seems. For his blind defenses, he hasnt 3bet 94s...hes called down. This guy is passive but likes to open pre.

If we get a read hes spazzing with TPnK, then im happy to call down/etc. But until that point, i see no reason to risk our stack when its clear he would take this line with 2pair+

buuut it's still worth repeating the question about history - were you the one cbetting him lots, what was your image, were you running him over, etc.

No history between me and villain, first decent sized pot we had played.

I had same feeling as Eug in that I didn't like b/f the flop to this villain but looking at turn bet it may have been right decision.

you've never seen any postflop aggro from him right? and he's raising flop, not simply betting when checked to. Bet-fold flop. He likely takes this line with all of K5/K2/52s/55/22/AK. Now it's up to you to find enough combos of hands that you beat to make a flop call optimal.

Given you're UTG I think CO is more likely to have AK and even AA compared to other positions, so you can probably fold the flop or the turn.

IF this was like CO vs BTN or something I would have a tough time folding the turn.
