Default FFS bet your GD hands

This is mainly meant as a reminder to myself but if your new I'm sure that you can learn from this as well. The main idea behind this is to drive home the point that slow playing your monsters is a HORRIBLE idea at microstakes as you will get exactly what you want, people will call you with their shit hands because you made it cheap for them. Then they hit and you and your now losing aces are stacked.

I will add more hands to this as I see them.

Here are a few examples of this:

Hand 1 - Min betting AA from the SB, what could possibly go wrong with this right?

    $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Holdem
    Full Tilt Poker
    5 Players
    Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG endlessdaze ($3.72)
    CO melole ($1.79)
    BTN liberato42 ($0.73)
    SB RandalMcSweeney ($3.98)
    BB argash ($6.25)

    Pre-Flop: ($0.03, 5 players) argash is BB
    2 folds, liberato42 calls $0.02, RandalMcSweeney raises to $0.04, argash calls $0.02, liberato42 calls $0.02

    Flop: ($0.12, 3 players)
    RandalMcSweeney bets $0.04, argash calls $0.04, liberato42 calls $0.04

    Turn: ($0.24, 3 players)
RandalMcSweeney bets $0.10, argash folds, liberato42 calls $0.10

    River: ($0.44, 2 players)
RandalMcSweeney checks, liberato42 bets $0.44, RandalMcSweeney calls $0.44

    RandalMcSweeney shows

    liberato42 wins $1.24 (net +$0.62)

    argash lost $0.08
    RandalMcSweeney lost $0.62

Hand 2 - Don't limp with Middle pocket pair. Fold, bet or raise. Do not limp and don't cold call till you know what your doing. Had he open raised pre here he would have taken the blinds. Had he bet the flop he would have taken the blinds. Instead I got to see a free turn and make more off him on the river.

This is one of the key points I learned when I started playing. I cant even count how many times my set / aces / kings got killed by a backdoor straight / flush / two pair / better set.
Tilt is poker cancer. You catch it, you die.

what up with the tiny bets pre-flop and on the flop in hand 1 ?
  5. #5
Can I just emphasise that a better reason to not slowplay at the micros than to protect your big hands from getting stacked is to actually get value from tards who will call with anything and pay you off. This is after all, the main reason these stakes are so soft.

Hand 3b - Heres a new hand 3 to replace the previous one. Here's another attempt to "trap" with rockets. Ohhhh and we have a short stacker too. So what wrong with this hand? Hmmm maybe the STUPID FUCKING MINRAISE! True story, after the hand finished the guy with the rockets spent 10 minutes berating the other player for donk calling. HOW COULD YOU CALL WITH THAT CRAP!?!?! I'll tell you how, YOU FUCKING MINRAISED!!!!

You need to avoid the trap in that position.

And if you get trapped you either got to suck out or fold and live to fight another day.

Do you really want to post this in the beginners forum without elaborating? It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Seems contrary to what is usually preached to noobs.

Fnord's being a little bit humorous here (as is his wont). His point is that a big leak with microstakes players is being unwilling to put money into the pot and being too timid and weak, letting other players control the action.

But obviously he isn't saying that you should be bluffing every pot into stations.

Bet your good hands. But showing how some people lost some pots because they didnt bet IS NOT a valid reason. Otherwise take littleogre´s recent "brag" post, and there you have a reason for not betting your hand. I get that OPs intention is good, the conclusion is valid, but the logic is flawed. Instead, give reasons why you should bet your good hands(theyve been posted 1 million times here in the BC), otherwise this is just a results oriented post with good intentions.

Im confused why you think villian is slowplaying KK in Hand 6. He raises both preflop and on the flop. Sure, his raise preflop should be bigger. But that doesnt mean he is slowplaying..

And why are you leading that flop?

Fnord knows what the **** he is doing. Which puts him ahead of at least 99 percent of everyone who comments about poker on the internet (myself included).
