my friends were playing texas holdem and the table had
K diamonds, 9 diamonds, 7 diamonds, 6 diamonds, 10 diamonds
one player had 9 hearts and 2 clubs
the othr player had 7 spades and 7 clubs who wins the hand

That would be a split. The two players both have identical flushes (their hole cards do not play in this case), so they would split the pot.

what decision on who won was made on the night? was the pot correctly shared?
