Fold, you have nothing. I don't think he pulls this move into 4 opponents with nothing.

Also, this is clearly not hypothetical. See what you started Aceofone!?

it is hypothetical because i wasn't last to act but everyone else folded.
My read is that he was an aggressive player who would try to steal pots he thought he could with a weak board.

His play just makes absolutely no sense. at this level clearly he would slowplay a 9.

The bet isn't that huge because the pot is $4.

His push makes sence if he thinks that you think he would slowplay a 9.

All pps beat you, any 6 beats you, any 9 beats you.

fold. he has something better than you. any raise or call is you chasing or bluffing and both are not good ideas.

Hypothetically speaking, I think you're actually beat.

Count the pot, look at the stack sizes. The 10x opener put us in a silly spot.

Why can't every just play the way we do? Why does half of the table have to call when a 5xbb raise is made?

Are you suggesting that this is a bad thing?

    fold

if you are getting this many callers preflop with AK then raise bigger.
dont stick to 3-4BB just because the book says so. If you can raise more and still get callers with worse hands than you then raise more.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

No I suppose it's not a bad thing. It just makes poker a more difficult game when you have to play against more players. It's just more complex than having 1 player call the raise and see the flop with you. I feel like there's less math involved and less thinking required.

    I wish that everytime I raised 5xbb:
    1) One person would call
    2) I'd bet X amount on the flop with my TPTK
    3) Villain will push AI
    4) I call as he flips over BPBK
    5) I take all of his money 86% of the time

    But no!
