Hand History Help
Yes, I know there's a Hand History forum, but I figured this was suited for the Beginner's Circle rather than the HH forum. Anyway onto my question:
I play on PokerStars, and I have Poker Tracker. Poker Tracker obviously allows me to import Hand Histories and analyze my game (or so I've heard / read). My only problem is that I'm having trouble even GETTING hand histories. Is there a way to just have hand history's all saved to a file from Poker Stars, or should I be using a different program?
The only thing I see in PokerStars allows up to 200 hands or an email of specific hands, but nothing about an ongoing log or anything.
Important: right now I'm not playing with real money, I'm playing with play money. I'm basically getting in practice before I jump to real money, yes I know the practice is better with real money on the line, but that's not the point. The reason I brought this up is: does playing with play money in any way affect my ability to get hand histories? Meaning, are they only available with real money? Or can I get them just the same?
Thanks in advance for anyone who can give me a hand.

Yes PokerStars does have an option now to store HH on your local hard drive. From the main lobby, go to requests and choose "Hand History Options" or something close to that.
Then set it to store them locally and to hold onto X number of days.
Then in PT you need to tell it to look for them in the right place, most likely "C:\Program Files\PokerStars\Hands History" (or something like that.)
Sorry for being a little vague, but I'm at work right now.

Poker tracker won't import hands from play money games.

More to the point you're waaaay over analyzing things running play money hands through PT. Learn the interface with play money, anything else you 'learn' is likely to be wrong anyway.

Oh, I'm not getting ahead of myself. I just wanted to have a grasp on the whole hand history / poker tracker basics before I actually played with money...so that when I did start up a bankroll I wasn't just completely in the dark. Trying to prepare ahead of time, you see.
