JJ on K76tt FR 5nl
villain is 25-12 over 60 hands or so, 0/2 fold to cbet but small sample.
This is one of those spots where i used to pretty much auto check for a while, then auto c-bet for a while, then it got incredibly reg dependent. Now i'm at 5nl and i don't know who is reg

Bet flop and as played defo bet turn!
-
$0.25 on flop. i agree with carroters on "as played defo bet turn".
-
cbet flop.
this is the kind of flop where lots of people will just bet into you because you didnt follow up, and youll be forced to c/f. if you have reads that opp isnt this kind of player, then i guess you can get away with it, but in my experience, almost everyone at these stakes is.
bet turn, its the perfect card for you (besides a j lol) you get more hands that you beat which might call a vbet. no k is folding, but youve improved your equity by manipulating opps range.
that said, with the pretty wet board, and opp on button, im almost more interested in what we do oop on river if villain flats the turn bet.
-
@zorkin why are you forced to c/f if u check?
betting and checking are fine on the flop
def bet the turn.
and def bet every river but an A if called
-
the reason i said that is since from what ive seen, many opps will grab the initiative in a hand where the preflop opener refuses to cbet on a k-high board or similar. so what ends up happening is that you end up out of position against an opp who most usually throws out two barrels if youre playing passive back at him
i guess maybe if you have the reads/stones to call two streets on a hand like this, then it works out, but im still not convinced that its a better line than just doing a standard cbet, and then taking it from there

^There's nothing wrong w/ c/c flop if you don't think you can get value by betting and that villain will bluff. Most villains probably wouldn't fire 2 without a hand here since when you c/c you're repping a hand w/ showdown value.

ok, so flop checks through (plan was check-call vs most sizing)
turn is interesting, i hit the draw to the 3rd nuts plus villain is going to be calling 99/QT/Acx hands all day. Then again, most of his Acx holdings are sooted...
