i was trying to imply that there was no free vacation and it was obviously some sort of sales ploy, not that this girl is going to try to deceive me. excellent point though.

Depends. Did her seat get picked as the lucky winner out of an arena full of people or did she put her name in a draw. The latter is more likely a sales ploy than the former.

download irfanview, it's a small program and you don't need administrator privileges so you can install it at school/work or wherever you feel like

    open image,
    "Image" menu -> resize resample

type 180 in the width, if the height number is > 300, then change the height to 300

    save

If you want to trim for a better fit, click+drag a region then
    "edit" menu -> crop selection

eric, you make some strong points. And seeing as Im not a computer science major or even a good poker player, I cant really continue this argument. However I do remember when Ive seen it discussed before that it wouldnt be all that hard to implement a bot in a game where nut camping will win. However the big hurdles come in a game where bluffing is necessary, which means pretty much every game nowadays. But again, this is just something I remember reading went his discussion has come up before, so take it for what it is..

Certain types of games clearly lend themselves to being botted better than others.

Using the number of combinations available on the flop doesn't tell the whole story. You have to consider past actions to get an idea of how the villain plays, which will start ratcheting up your feature space, thus your complexity. I doubt any measure gets to the 10^120 or whatever sick number of chess moves there are, but that's at least partially countered by the hidden information.

And "solving" HU 100bb deep still doesn't solve the game. Going to 200bb adds another layer of complexity again, although I'd guess somewhere around 1000bb would be close enough to "infinite".

Like boost I am also not a good player, but there seems to be a lot of intuition involved, which you can't capture.

I'm looking forward to Lukie's epic bump in 2036.

well, I think using "intuition" to explain how the best of the best make decisions is short changing them. But I think I agree with your point.. youre pretty much saying that a ton relies on gameflow, something that seems like it would be really difficult to have a bot "understand." Like, bet timing can be an important tell, but its rarely as simple as quick = bluff and long = the nuts.

All good points. I still feel very strongly about what I wrote before and to be honest, I'd rather the discussion just die because it's not worth it to me. One, I don't want to give people ideas on how to start, and two I don't want to come off as pro-bottish (I'm not).

since this is the random thread i thought we could use some randomness:

It would take 11 Empire State Buildings, stacked one on top of the other, to measure the Gulf of Mexico at its deepest point.

The most money ever paid for a cow in an auction was $1.3 million.

1 in 5,000 north Atlantic lobsters are born bright blue.

Every human spent about half an hour as a single cell.

The plastic things on the end of shoelaces are called aglets.

There is a an island of plastic and trash floating in the Pacific ocean that is twice the size of Texas. (????wtf)

An iguana can stay under water for 28 minutes.

ya, I agree the discussion has pretty much run its course unless someone in the know drops some knowledge. However if they knew, then they would be botting up the games and living like a king, not posting here.

yea if i had to guess i would pick this

however, the ideal height involves being taller than the woman, taller than surrounding males, and having a physique that makes that height look full/not awkward

tidbit, US presidents have all been above average in height, and i wanna say that Bush has stood on boxes when overseas being the pulpit when next to tall leaders, but i could be wrong on that. people just like tall people more. and watch schindlers list and notice that liam neeson stands taller than everybody in the entire film; it was a pretty effective effect at making him seem more noble and such

Or it's because I have no idea how they actually think, thus the only way to describe it

I would have said 6'1" for the height, but think 6'2" is more likely ideal if you're getting picky. 6'->6'4" are probably the same for 95% of girls.

41-41 is 0.500, we're 12 wins above that. The villain is ignoring we are also 12 loses below 0.500, thus 24 games.

    agree wholeheartedly

The argument he used went something like this:

Say you had a team that was 40-38 and another that was 38-38. The 40-38 team would be considered one game ahead in the standings and if the 38-38 team won head to head, they'd be equal at 39-38. I tried to explain that's basically like playing 2 separate games so it's not relevant. More important is that the 40-38 team would have to lose 2 games to be back at .500; hence they are 2 games above .500.

He wouldn't budge, so either I'm a poor explainer or he's just very dumb.

I'm a bit north of 6'4", but most of my women have been between 4'11" and 5'6". I usually tower any woman I'm with, and they love that.

I wonder what's considered "tall" for chicks? 5'11"?

Your 5-95% range is 5'1" to 5'8" with the middle at like 5'5".

I'm going to guess that 12" is borderline "too much taller", thus 6'1" would cover 90% of the girls without excluding any and still leave 5" taller than the high end of the range. I think 6'4" would eliminate a lot of short girls.

Alternatively, you could have just linked to the ftr photo gallery and that would be /discussion.

I don't think the 2 inches matters a whole lot either way; going from 5'6 to 5'8 on the other hand would be a big difference.

perk of being tall: it's easier to get laid
perk of being short: longer life expectancy

    http://www.sciencedirect.com/science...c19756a8ee28e2

Findings based on millions of deaths suggest that shorter, smaller bodies have lower death rates and fewer diet-related chronic diseases, especially past middle age. Shorter people also appear to have longer average lifespans. The authors suggest that the differences in longevity between the sexes is due to their height differences because men average about 8.0% taller than women and have a 7.9% lower life expectancy at birth. Animal experiments also show that smaller animals within the same species generally live longer.

lol when i first read that i thought it said 'smaller boobies' i was liek nooooooooooo

One of my hypotheses about why shorter people may live longer is because they eat less, and I don't mean they eat less and are thus 'healthier' but that they simply process less food and that has longevity effects.

There hasn't been a ton research done on this stuff, but I have seen a bit of evidence that suggests that calorie reduction increases longevity. Obviously if the reduction is to the point of malnurishment it has the opposite effect. One rather interesting study involved intermittent fasting in mice i.e. the mice would eat like once every 48 hours or something, and they lived substantially longer than the normally fed control group. I'm not sure what the calorie differences were there, but it's also possible that in that study calories were the same in both test groups and so the longevity was for other reasons having to do with periodic calorie restriction.

yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. The funny part is that it's at direct odds with the typical health/fitness advice (that I also recommend) of eating 5-6 small meals a day.

with that being said, I'm very convinced that in the future we will see dramatic increases in life expectancy, particularly those who are healthy and wealthy enough to benefit from the scientific and medical breakthroughs that we're going to see.

(also, I think girls benefit greatly from weight lifting as well, but not because they need more testosterone and you're not a girl anyway. I think.)

Article on study resulting in children = bad for marriage

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/...alsatisfaction

"Couples who do not have children also show diminished marital quality over time," says Scott Stanley, research professor of psychology at University of Denver. "However, having a baby accelerates the deterioration, especially seen during periods of adjustment right after the birth of a child."
Looks like the study didn't control for types of couples, just couples in general

    i actually started lifting about a month ago (for about the 4th time in my life) but i feel different this time. usually what happens is i get motivated, work out for a few months, then quit for no real reason. {insert poor, non-related cop out pussy excuse as to why i quit}

Leg, if you attack it with due diligence for 3 months, then take a couple months off, you'll still reap long term gains. I always rolled, 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off because of the quarter structure of school, but it was always good results.

one thing is u gotta be sure to lift actual progressively heavy weights (relative to your strength) for decent volume.

in 4 months time, a beginner should be seeing such amazing results that they will plan to never quit

I kinda wanna start working out.

but then again I kinda wanna start doing a million diff things. Why are there so few hours in the day?

Speaking of which, Im in class with this girl that is an insomniac, and its crazy hearing her talking about it. She sleeps for like a couple of hours a week. But she gets migranes a lot because of this, so I guess that sucks.
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.

I need some cool movies to watch, this week I finally saw Snatch, Lock Stock and two smoking barrels, and reservoir dogs

kinda looking for films like this, something from the tarantino genre that's interesting, has some action, and def. a good storyline.
