    Toss a coin.

Seriously, they're both great sites. Have a look around both and see which you prefer. I prefer PS. Others prefer FTP. I prefer a nice tight (lady's) arse to a cracking pair of tits. Others would disagree strongly. I prefer tea to coffee.

Most important question is: What stakes are you playing at? FTP is like being raped by a cactus covered in sharp glass and hot sauce if you're playing Micros, but is very lucrative at midstakes and up.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

Not an expert on this, but don't Stars and FTP have similar rake structures at corresponding stakes?

See this post for other considerations including bonuses and rakeback.

With rakeback at FTP, it's only worse by 1-2% than Stars with Bronze Star because PokerStars raised their micro rake too.

Email FTP, ask nicely, they'll say no or maybe or we'll put you on a list. Then 1mo to many many mos later, they will send you an email saying you've been approved to get rb thru rakebackpros. That's what I did. Thousands of others have done the same.

Here's a link to a FTR thread where someone else did the same.

I'm pretty sure if you signed up thru an affiliate there's no hope, but if you signed up directly there is. of course you can just search it, this is a well-discussed subject.
