Want to learn a second type of game - suggestions?

Been thinking for a while I want to learn another game to balance out my NLHE playing for fun and to learn new skills. I'm leaning towards 7 Card Stud (I've read quite a bit on it) but want to hear from more experienced players what they learned and would suggest. Omaha is supposed to require a lot of skill, yes?

i would wait until you understand one game well before trying to learn new tricks.

Get a solid understand of HE before you even attempt PLO

I don't play much Omaha, I always get pwned. I play Stud a few times a month and usually do pretty well but I really like 2-7 triple draw. It's not out of the question to learn new variations because you might find something you like and are actually better at. Playing different games will help will in Hold'em and vice versa.

stud variations are tough to multi-table and take your full concentration to play as +EV as possible

Stud variants are fun but I don't like not being able to multitable. Since I've been 6+ tabling HE lately, single tabling stud has been tooo slooow, especially when I'm just playing for fun.

I really like Omaha Hi/Lo but never really play Omaha Hi. Omaha really makes sure you can spot the nuts on any board, and if you miss them, you'll sure hope to remember next time. :P But after I got almost decent (not getting owned all the time, ha) I went back to playing HE and just playing Omaha occasionally for fun.

I also like playing five card draw to chill out a bit, it's fairly cut and dry.

How is five card draw cut and dry? Other than the fact it only has two betting rounds, there's a whole starting hands strategy, knowing how to put your opponent on a range, etc. it's almost as complex as hold'em, although since you get less rounds of betting your edge is lower

I would venture to guess that river decisions in hold'em are some of the most important ones

2-7 TD is a gold-mine at like 2/4 and below and also higher if there is a big fish sitting that wants to gambooool.

I dont think iPoker offer that.

I played a bit of 7card stud and Omaha hi-lo last night for fun when I was bored. I wasnt very good at either.

Hmm, cut and dry is the wrong thing to say. It seems like there are a lot less hard decisions and a lot of people playing against the odds. I should mention that I play limit (how the hell do you play PL, you can't any cards! :P) and that I only play like .25/.50

But I suck at poker so, yknow, ignore me.

I should learn limit. I really dont want to. Maybe because its what I first tried (for about a day) and really didnt like it.

A lot of decisions become easier in limit because most of your hands go bet/call
you shouldn't check top pair in limit, even though it's good in NL for pot control
