TPTK & Overpairs deep
I feel like I'm playing tptk and overpairs kind of timid and giving up value when deep. 100bb deep I'd get it in with the hands below, but this deep I feel like it's overvaluing my hand.
I don't feel like this caution would be such a bad thing against a better opponent, but against weak players, do we want to be playing for stacks, or close to stacks, 150bb deep or even deeper with tptk or an overpair all the time he's check-calling?
Hand 1 is a 31/21 over 270 hands, doesn't fold much postflop (33% fold to cbet, 25% on the turn)
Button ($71.39)
Hero (SB) ($178.35)
BB ($102.19)
UTG ($81.95)
Preflop: Hero is SB with K , K
UTG bets $1.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $5, 1 fold, UTG calls $3.50
Flop: ($10.90) 2 , J , 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $8, UTG calls $8
Turn: ($26.90) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $14, UTG calls $14
River: ($54.90) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $20, UTG calls $20
How's my sizing here? I think I gave up value on the river fearing a checkraise, otoh perhaps betting smaller here is OK since we get away from a river c/r cheaper, and we get more calls from worse hands that would fold to a big bet.
Hand 2 is a 28/17 over 130 hands who folds the flop 44% and I haven't seen him fold later streets at all yet.
I think I made a big mistake checking back the river here, but the board was so dry I just couldn't see what worse could be calling, and the 9 on the river wasn't exactly welcome, so again I chickened out fearing a c/r.
