Top Two vs. Unknown

This was like the 7th hand in on the table and of those 7 he was running 0/0. SB played every hand but 1 out of the 7 and never raised preflop.

I'd like to hear your ranges before I post mine please. I will say I bet semi-smallish on the flop to keep SB in as I figured the original raiser was finished with the hand.

hrm. i dont really know what hes check raising 3 way here. Looks alot like a flush draw with the T or Jack of diamonds though. Hrmm, weak broadways seem unlikely...and theres only 1 combo each of AA/QQ and im not sure sb is foldign a flush draw so id say he had an A/Q as well if hes callign your flop bet oop.

Beats me. I cant really see what hes playing this way that we're afraid of...i like a call and praying for small black cards.

Seems to me that villain is afraid of the flush hitting when he jams the turn.

Yeah I couldn't decide if it was "I'm scared of the flush getting there!" or "I'm scared the flush won't get there!"

Just a thought you have 53% equity against AA,QQ,55,AKs,AKo...

Also, I hate your bet sizing on the flop.

I think you can go a bit bigger.

How did you get to 53% equity? Do you mean after the flop or after the turn?

You need 32% equity for a call to be BE. Worst case scenario, he has 55/QQ/AA/AQ/KdJd, which you have 25% equity against. Add in a combo or two of AK, and combo or two of a flush draw (AdKd, AdJd, Ad,Td), and it's a call.

The effective stack on the turn is $17.25 - villein has shoved for this.

We have to call $17.25 to win $36 in the pot, ratio of 1 : 2.087, to get a percentage we do 1/(2.087+1) = 32%ish.

(17.25) / (18.75 + 17.25 + 17.25)
(17.25) / (53.25)
= 0.324 = 32%

Thank Stacks and Hoopy, I get it now although I don't quite get the shove. Why would anyone shove more than the effective stack? What does he gain by doing that?

There is nothing to gain, really. It's easier to slide the bar over than to type in your opponent's exact stack. It's the same thing, just a different way of doing it.

Thanks guys. I knew I was an idiot for even posting this because but I wasn't sure how tight of a range people gave him. Appreciate it.
