No Limit Hold Em Theory and Practice is a book. It's where the concept of Stack to Pot Ratios (SPR) came from.

It has to do with the pot size in comparison to the effective stack size and how to merge preflop and post flop betting to revolve around your best odds for the starting hands you are using.

    Confusing enough?

No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice is well worth reading, but it's not the one that introduces SPR as a shorthand for stack to pot ratios - Professional No Limit Holdem does that - and spends a lot of pages on using it to analyse situations

This post is also an answer to defence against potential setfarmers:
    - having not that much money behind, so you can stick it in with top pairs for ++EV and get called by losing range often enough
    - having much enough money behind, so you have fold equity when you want to blow them off their missed PP's on flop.
