Showing bluffs?
When do y'all show hands?
I was just at a microlimits table and raises were scaring everyone off. About 6 hands in I played this one:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
saw flop|saw showdown
MP ($3.35)
Hero ($9.80)
Button ($3.45)
SB ($14.65)
BB ($1.05)
UTG ($6.25)
Preflop: Hero is CO with , .
UTG calls $0.10, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.10, Button raises to $0.3, 2 folds, UTG calls $0.20, Hero calls $0.20.
Flop: ($1.05) , , (3 players)
UTG bets $0.6, Hero calls $0.60, Button folds.
Turn: ($2.25) (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.75, UTG folds.
Final Pot: $3
Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins $3.
I showed my hand and thought I'd get some nasty chat messages, but I didn't. So, two hands later I get confirmation that the dude was a little pissed off:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
saw flop|saw showdown
BB ($4.05)
Hero ($11.05)
MP ($3.15)
CO ($14)
Button ($0.90)
SB ($5.25)
Preflop: Hero is UTG with , .
Hero raises to $0.3, 3 folds, SB raises to $0.7, 1 fold, Hero raises to $11.05, SB calls $4.55 (All-In).
Flop: ($16.40) , , (2 players, 1 all-in)
Turn: ($16.40) (2 players, 1 all-in)
River: ($16.40) (2 players, 1 all-in)
Final Pot: $16.40
Results in white below:
SB has Qh Ac (high card, ace).
Hero has Ks Kc (one pair, kings).
Outcome: Hero wins $16.40.
I love it.
Anyway, do y'all find that showing bluffs frequently increases the action on your good hands? Any suggestions or tips on maximizing this effect? Differences for ring vs SnGs? Anyone have opinions on showing "see I had the goods" versus "see? I outplayed you"?
Thanks.
