    Default Rakeback question...

Ok, I'm totally going to ask a noob question even though I've been on here for like a year.

I just got my first withdrawl from Sportsbook (part of Cake ). I bitched alot about the time it took and they told me to contact them after I received my withdrawl to talk about giving me some bonuses or something to make me happy. As I threatened to take the rest of my money off and move to Stars or somewhere.

I am a tourney player that is starting to transition to cash. I know rakeback is a must to have if you are a cash player. and I have heard Cake gives like 33% rakeback. Yet I know very little about how it all works. Do you have to play a certain amount of hands to clear it, etc. I still play tourneys as well and don't want it to be something I gotta really work to get it to the point that I can't play what I want when I want.

Could someone give me the ABC's of rakeback or point me to a previuos thread that covers it.

And is this something the site can give you direct or do you have to sign up with someone else and its a 3rd party thing?

I usually play 3 $10 tables for a few hours at a time when I play cash just as info.

    Thanks in advance!!

Edit: I did click on the highlighted rakeback in my post and read that, but still a little fuzzy. I guess general question would be if I tell Sportsbook I'm leaving unless they give me a rakeback deal can they do this direct?

I've been really happy with where I landed for rakeback... shows up in my FT account every week like clockwork. I think a key thing to keep in mind is what they consider rake for the calculation (for FT mine doesn't require you to be in the hand... you get a share of all rake for all hands, which is better for me as I'm a nit...), how bonuses affect it (for FT it's deducted from rake.. but not really an issue as they don't really do bonuses... but for UB IS a bigger issues..) I don't think the site will direct you... but u gotta get it if you're playing cash ring... it's worth north of $200 a month for me, and that's only micros for 15-20K hands a month...

Does that work with any rakeback site? Or just with the your rakeback provider?

good question, and I don't really know... However, all the major ones describe their calculation method in the small print for the site. Prolly worth comparing a couple of them and see if there's a diff

    rakeback...
ok, from every cash hand played where a flop is seen - the poker site takes a portion of the pot (normally 5% up to a maximum of $5) = rake = the profit for poker sites

When you sign up to a poker site through an affiliate (e.g. FTR?) they will often get a % of the profit generated (=rake) from you as a player in perpetuity. Rakeback arrangements describe situations where a large chunk of these $$ are returned to you as a player.

Sometimes the rakeback will only be paid back to you if it's above a certain amount - read the small print.

so, say you generate $100 in rake for the site during October and have a 33% rakeback arrangement - this $33 will normally appear in your poker account in early november. etc. Playing cash without rakeback strikes me as silly.

when you sign up for rakeback, use a referral code to the rakeback provider from someone here - it won't affect your $$, however if you end up playing high stakes/volume then it means that more money stays in the poker player community...

ok, sorry but I'm still so confused. So these rakeback sites are 3rd party sites where you have to sign up through them who in turn have an agreement with certain poker sites?

I guess lets get specific. I'm on Sportsbook now, I want to get rakeback and Sportsbook (I assume ) wants me to keep playing there. Is there anyway when I talk to sportsbook that I can somehow get rakeback even though I am not opening a new account with them if they agree. Or is that something completely out of their control?

And if I have to go through a 3rd party rakeback site which ones are recommended?

Man, I am so lost on this. LOL

    hey blue,
I already looked at this sportsbook eventhough they are part of cake poker will not allow any type of rakeback. If you want to use rake back you will have to sign up at cake poker or move to another site. That is why i would like to leave sportsbook and move to poker stars so i can use things like hem. But i still have not done it yet. Glad to hear you finally got your check take care bro.

Quick question for rakeback on FTP, does the amount of rakeback you received directly correlate with the amount of points you earn. Not the bonus FTP's and such, but the base FTP's you earn for Iron Man. Say you earn 100 points for 5 days, will you get X amount of $ for each day?

For each dollar raked from a pot, every player who was dealt cards for that hand will earn one point.
so you personally would pay about 11 cents per point playing FR
correct me if I'm totally off-base

Since both are based on Rake, I'd think there's some correlation. Depends on the terms of your rakeback as well. But all this goes to hell 'cause you got the 2x and 3x FTP happy hour periods that DON'T equate to increased rakeback. So unless you wanna do some kind of tracking process to normalize that sh!t (or don't play during those times), you at best got a guess...

So, I contacted Sportsbook after my check cleared and said so what bonus you giving me so I don't move on. This fucking site knows how to hook a playa up. Get this shit...

10% bonus next time I deposit. Thats right, 10% baby.

I told them I MAKE money playing. I did my initial deposit in November of last year and never intend to deposit again. They said, well if you do, we'll hook you up with that 10%.

Sportsbook knows how to treat their players. They are the shit I tell you.

not quite. FPPs correlate directly to rake taken from tables you play. Rakeback is calculated on rake taken from tables you play divided by the number of players at these tables.
points are thus worth more rakeback the shorter=handed you play.

Funny thing is, when I withdrew my money the first time they offered me 15% bonus if I cancelled the witddrawl and stuck it back in, maybe I'll try that again. LOL

Sounds like you don't even actually need to play poker at this site.... just keep moving money in and out and you'll be balla with bonus!

Anyone use rakeback (cants say exact site name for some reason) on FT? I recently got it and finished the first week, ending on the 13th. I see the money on the website but haven't gotten it in my account yet on FT. Anyone know how long it usually takes after a period?
