Default Question on Flop % (online microlimit) & Bluff

Hi folks, this looks like a great forum.
I have two questions to put to the 'experts' out there.
I have read a few books on low limit holdem and find that my online play at the 0.50c tables fluctuates way too much
    ** Question 1 **
All online rooms show the current % of players for the flop AND the average pot size. Is there a particular % of players to the flop I should seek or avoid to maximize my chances ?

    Question 2 **
Similar to question 1, is looking for rooms with the biggest pot size bad? Will i only find maniacs there.
Finally, was just about to buy a book off ebay - Sklansky's Theory of Poker, which is recommended as a classic. Does it still hold much relevance to the 'new' microlimit online games.

    Most grateful......thanks

This depends on you syle, tight play generaly works best on loose aggressive tables, and vice versa. Just remember that if a table has a high flop % dosent mean there are no rocks out there. Poker Tracker and a HUD (like PokeACE) will help weed these out for you.

Oh yes, an buy TOP, although it's mainly for limit and all the razz examples get a bit confusing. However the solid stratergies and, more importantly, the reasoning behind those stratergies can be applied to NL and will really help you get a better understanding of the game.

If you play tight preflop (which you should) then a high % of players
to flop and big average pot is good for you. Get the biggest you can of both.

Hopefully. This is what you want so you can fold fold fold and then bust them with better cards then theirs.

Yea it has very solid, fundamental strategies. I'd also reccomend Harrington on Holdem 1.

You want the highest % see flop you can get. The looser your opps, the worse players they are (in general). I value this over pot size.

Pots size can be an indication of passive v.s. aggressive. [though I have seen passive tables with large avg pot sizes because they bet large on the river…which is ideal(IMO)] If you find the table aggressive then tighten up your starting hand requirements and devalue drawing hands…you won’t get odds to draw. Passive tables are perfect for flopping with SC and drawing type hands.

Yes, TOP is a still a good book to read.
    Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL
