    Default The Perfect AA

So, I've been following a few threads, including the hazards of slow-playing AA, and I'm curious.

What's the ideal scenario for monetizing the AA?

It seems like you don't want people going all the way with you, because there are too many chances a lesser hand will end up beating you. But presumably you also don't want to force everyone out at the beginning and just go home with the blinds...

In chess, I like to visualize the position I want on the board, and then figure out how to get there.

So, in poker, what's the "Perfect" AA hand. What do you do with it, and how does it get you the most value for the least risk?

Umm..... If possible, you always want to get it all-in pre-flop with AA, it's the only hand that is sure to be best when you turn them over. Sure, you'll get beat occasionally, but look at it this way in simple math terms: If you went all in pre-flop with AA 100 times for a pot of $100 each time and lost 20%, you'd win $800 and lose $200 for a $600 profit.

So the ideal situation is to get your opponent to go all-in with you pre-flop. Whatever happens, happens. You got it in good and are probably at least an 80% favorite.

idk I bust people with AA going all the way to the river plenty of times
and I also often dump it post-flop when it doesn't seem like it's good

The perfect AA is when villain has KK on AAKK2 board.

I think the best way is all in.......better to get the blinds even if low rather than having too many in the pot that may catch on the river. Has happened to me too many times...

    Holy blueballs batman?

Also, obv the perfect situation is to get AA allin preflop. However, that doesn't mean you should always just go allin with AA (either by 3bet/4b/5betting, or by just open shoving). You play AA in the manner that will extract the most value out of villain's range.

    I am Queens Blvd.
I find myself folding AA a lot if I see a flop. They usually outflop you. Aces rarely win if you see too many cards.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

    This is the wrong approach.
What you should be doing with AA is what you should be doing with any other hand. Think about betting and calling ranges, and how to get the most value in a specific situation.

This thread is fucking stupid. I know this is the BC but for the love of jack wrangler this place is turning into a shit storm of worthless drivel. Just fold all 169 starting hands pre-flop if you don't know what to do with them.
