Like you im still learning most of the stuff and the maths on this site and strong postflop play is a bit of a mystery.
Heres my take.
Strong flop play is to me about being unreadable
Is that possible?
and what is it?
Let me try and illustarte in a 'fishy' way
I used to use the same raise for certain hands and id always bet certain hands in certain ways. So when someone hit a monster id just end up feeding them my cash (not hard earnt im a student!)
Now i know that there are different ways to play post flop hands under different circumstances. I dont always hit that two pair hard now i bet as if i have second pair and wait for some sucker with tptk to feed me his cash. I call with 72 off suit to some guys raise with AK becasue i know next time i call him with pps and hit a set i can make him pay treble what i fed to him with my daft call. Strong post flop play means you understand all the elements that are involved in each hand of poker you play.
Not only do you need to know when ur beat or when you have him beat (this comes from watching his play and not listening to MP3s like i used to do) But also you have to understand how more advanced elements work like pot odds, position etc I used to make big rasies from early position with AJ and get screwed when some guy called from later position with AK and called me out then raised. Now IM that guy doing that to others because i understand the information others play and their bets gives to me.
The only way to have strong post flop play is to read the stuff on this site. Then you simply have to recognise the right situation to use it and thats the tough bit.
For me, strong post flop play isnt about the cards you have, its about the cards they dont have and how you figure that out.
