Well.. SB/BB I usually see a flop, b/c lower limits are passive. That really means that I limp or raise 1-2 hands per cycle on the other 4 positions.

Btw, if these stats don't say much then just ignore them. Thx to Cocco_Bill and Dislexsik I have managed to get Poker Tracker to work. I must say I really like it! For now I only managed to import 1k of my oldest hands, not sure how representational they are of my game now as it has changed a lot since then.

even at passive 6max games, you should probably play less hands, especially at your experience level.

Jack. What sort of winrate are you pulling and how many hands is it over?

seeing half the flops is probably costing you especially in lower limit games where your image is probably being ignroed (to a large extent).

1. That appears to be a 1k hand sample. This is not enough to tell anyone anything.

2. You appear to be seeing too many flops, even for a lagg, even for 6 max.

3. AA/KK shouldn't be breakeven unless you are running absolutely tremendously awful.

Good laggs are tight out of position. If they are on UTG, SB, or BB, they generally play very tight (probably 15% or less of hands). You don't see good laggs calling raises on the BB much.

Your stats don't suggest to me that you are playing too many hands, but that you are playing too many hands out of position. Position is HUGE to a lagg, usually even more important than the cards.

Click on position stats tab and see what your net winnings are for SB. That is a huge vp$ for SB I would think. My SB over the last 1500 hands is vp$p 12.58 and its my biggest looser at (15.18), a leak I really need to fix. Its just so easy to hit that call button on poor to marginal hands when everyone limps around to you.

12.58 VP$P from the SB is really tight. You would probably lose less if you played more hands.

I have the opposite problem. I am too loose from the SB at 41.57 VP$P. I am losing at a rate of -8BB/100 from the SB over a large sample. I don't think its a horrible number, but it certaintly could be better. I think its almost hopeless to turn a profit from the blinds in the long long term.

See, I was always under the impression you wanted your vp$p in the blinds to be small, or at least your smallest % of the positions. I learned something today, very cool.

as a starter 48% is too high, no matter how bad ur opponents are. If you'd shown us 25-30 that would have been aceptable but for the moment id guess 10-22 is best.

I read on the PT forums I think it was that you want your vp$p to get smaller from top to bottom starting with the Button and going down to the SB. Cant remember exactly where I found that though.

My numbers over the last 1300+ hands since May 1st when I went back to playing instead of trying to just break even to clear the bonus. There not great probably and it is just 1300 hands so very small sample size. But trust me when I say they are a ton better than the 10,000 hands before them.

Very small sample size. So these numbers will easily change more untill the sample size starts getting large then the change will be less noticable.

Thats better than it was before the May 1st change when it was vp$p 13 and PFR 1.2 or something like that.

These are pretty old stats, I think they only reflect my VP$IP and PFR somewhat. (40 and 20 or something along those lines). Since then my preflop game changed a lot (I like to think it improved) and I play a LOT more with position.

Just had another 3 hour session.. 30 ptBB/100 at 20NL. It's hard to "change a winning team", the results I get with my shitty lagg style seem pretty consistent.. or atleast I'm gonna be waiting until I can buy the full PT so I can see the stats of how my game is now.

(btw AA really is amongst my biggest losers.. atleast recently, I'd have to see the whole PT stats to be definate - but yesterday alone it cost me huge 4x with zero profit, today I didn't get it)

Ok, I pulled up some more recent stats. Just to see my current VP$IP and PFR. These are since the downswing fiasco from 2 days ago. From yesterday where I started playing earlier in the day, noticed I was in 'teh suck mode' and quickly quit after losing $35, calling station-style, then I played more when I had regained my wits at night and an hour more now.

22 hands at 10NL
636 hands at 20NL

All my positions are winners except the SB (when correcting for the blinds). Still need to be more cautious there I guess, even though I've already been correcting myself there since I saw the earlier stats. Strangely enough, 1, 2 and 3 are more profitable than the button, and the BB is break-even (but +EV when correcting for the blinds).. probably has to do with small sample size.

I think my PFR in this sample is a bit below average b/c the tables I played at yesterday and today weren't really catered towards too much aggression. I felt the people were eager to call down perceived bluffs, so I had to wait more for good hands.

Btw I'm not saying this is really representational, but I think it gives an idea. Until I can get the full PT version, I'll be evaluating myself over 1k hands more often I think.

Does this look more normal? Still Lagg? (remember it's 6max)

It's worth just buying PT and having done with it. I was going to do the same as you and wait until I had won enough to cover the purchase, but since I am playing _really_ badly at the moment, I decided just to buy it.

It's never a bad choice to be able to record _all_ the hands that you have played and PT is the best way of doing it.

Problem is, I need money to:
- get my bank account out of the negative
- buy more external HDs (the main reason I picked up poker)
- finally build a BR so I don't need to go back down to 10NL every time because I cash out
- living expenses - smoking and going out costs me a lot
- I need to get money into neteller to go bonus whoring

On the plus side, I seem to be getting a lot of my environment hyped for poker, so some live games are coming up.. and I have some other leads that could solve all my problems, if I ever get off my lazy off and pursue them.

So what I'm trying to say is, I totally agree it's worth it but sadly PT is a bit of a stretch atm..


Btw does anyone know the IBAN number of that Barclays bank neteller uses? I went to bank yesterday to try to deposit but without the IBAN it would cost me heaps for an international money transfer.. and their support hasn't really been giving me answers.

Another thing that I didn't even put on the list, is that I want to try MTTs - I feel I could in time become a good tournament player, but the expected revenue there is too far off to contemplate it now.

Btw Renton, my 33/11 stats for shorthanded, do you know how to interpret those?

I am not a great shorthanded player, but 33/11 is decent numbers for a lagg.

I would recommend you run around 25/10 or so, since fold equity is a little less at the stakes you play.

Yeah I've stopped pursuing MTTs for now. And I blow on average $8/day on smoking so I need to make more than that off poker just to break even haha

Jesus man! Quit smoking and you'll be a lot better off (health and money) in no time. I quit (again) a fair while ago and now I can do the whole "exercise" thing again, something I've not been able to do reliably since I got to Uni a long time ago.

With the price of smokes in the UK, you could get PT in a week with the money you saved from not smoking.

WOW, thats over $3000 a year just on cigarettes. OUCH. Glad I dont smoke, I wouldnt be able to put gas in my car with the way gas prices are.

Played some more hands today.. didn't quite get that $11/hour I mentionned above, probably was a bit too optimistic.. but anyway, I *knew* my PFR would be higher! Also I had a horrible start (opp's flopping nuts seemingly all the time, or runner-runner crap), but managed to pick up afterwards.

I think this is better.. less needless wasting money on the SB, when correcting for the blinds it is actually slightly positive this time. Also I have what I earlier mentionned, a higher PFR than 10. I'm 30/14 in this sample. So I raised half the hands I played! I also noticed my game relies a lot on fold equity. Calling station tables need me to switch gears all the time, but didn't hit too many of those today. (hence the higher PFR I guess)

By position, CO and UTG are 35% VP$IP, button is 32%. I guess card variance comes into play, since CO and button are my "play looser here" spots, not sure why UTG has more VP$IP than button. Small sample size probably.

Befitting a lagg, the hands that paid me off are rather random. I only got AA once, KK once and QQ twice. They stole the blinds nicely.
My biggest winners are in order: JTo, 33, AKo, 73o and J9s. (big lol @ 73o!)
Biggest losers in order: K8s, AQo, 32s, KQo, QJo.

you need to have a bigger sample to make any sense out of any of those stats.

I didnt know you could do that. I thought PT locked after 1000 hands.

I reinstall. Is pretty quick. But just now it told me it's the last time I can reinstall (fourth time).. so I guess I'm gonna have to clear the registry to keep going
