I will generally check the turn on most boards. It prevents oop from C/R if they have a monster and it induces river bluffs. If I hit top pair I will usually check turn then call any reasonable river maybe up to the pot. Most Stars nits will C/R the turn with their sets very transparent, its like none of them ever heard of raising the flop.
