I would say that you might never become a great player at all if your goal is to play 8 tables at once because even a genious cant handle all the information you get when playing that many tables, its impossible.
That said I would recomend you only to play 2 tables and try moving up instead of playing 4 $25 NL tables, if it doesnt work then move down again and try to figure out why you cant win at higher stake.
I have never played at more than 3 tables once because I think I miss so many things at the tables, that its better to become a better player than staying too long at a lower stake.
There is nothing I love more than a fish at the table and the next thing is a multitabler that play 4-8 tables once because their game is pready bad, too standard and its easy to pick situations where I can steal pots from them, they play tight and when they hit toppair they get super agressive and I know that when they raise preflop they got some middle pair or 2 big cards which means what when they make their standard tight play its so damn easy to call with any 2 cards (almost ) and when the flop comes something like 2-8-5 they make their standard continuation bet even it works on some players and they can make them fold they cant make me fold because its just a standard continuation bet that they impossible could have hit a flop like that, I then reraise and they most of the time just fold, if they call they always got something like AK AQ AJ and I can make a 2nd stab at the pot as a bluff on the turn and make them fold, if they get crazy I just fold...
All that said, I think its better for you to develop skills at playing poker instead of playing cards if you know what I mean. I dont believe that the biggest players at the cash game tables played 8 tables at once all their way to $5000 NL, they know how to play poker.
Many low limit players even dont know the odds before they start playing 8 tables, making matematically disasters everyday because they never gave themselves the chance to learn the odds when they played 1-2 tables, can cost you your bankroll in the long run...
for some reason this whole post just makes me laugh
