Line check with AKs ($10NL)

I don't have a lot of stats of the villain involved here, but he seems a little loose PF. No idea on his 4-bet range tho. Our table image is probably a little laggy, but we have recently shown down some big hands.

I should be stacking off here against an unknown with AKs, right? Otherwise what's the point in 3-betting?

Fold to the shove, rarely will you see anyone felting less than AA/KK pre in FR unless it's bvb or LP/blinds or some other situation with history.

I suppose also in the odd case of a massive aggro fish or ppl buying in short too. But generally fullstacks aren't 4b shoving w/less.

If he's laggy PF then fine 3b and fold, if he's a bit tighter I don't mind just flatting the raise PF.

You're a dog to any pocket pair, let alone the likely ones he's shoving such as QQ+ here.

If you aren't going to be comfortable stacking off preflop and you don't think he's calling with a lot of trash and only 4-betting a range that crushes you then you should just call preflop.

if he has a low pocket pair we're OK calling because we have the pot odds since we only need to call 89BB into a 203.5 BB pot so if we have 44% equity it's an easy call

so in conclusion, if you're not felting this you shouldn't 3b
I mean if you're 3bing and not planning on what to do vs. a 4b, then what ARE you thinking of? If he folds the hand ends right there, if he calls you will need to see the flop before making a decision

Be very careful 3b'ing an UTG unknown. In FR, the typical UTG range is pretty narrow and strong. Nothing wrong with flatting.

Plug some ranges into pokerstove and you will find its an easy fold. I mean....a realistic range here has got to be like JJ+ AK. It's really spewy to assign a range betting more for value. No way you can assume unknown 4 bet shoves as a bluff.
