LOL...I just came across that post as well. From what I've read, Demiparadigm is very insightful, and I think that post is great (see DP quote below).
I've recently put a lot of time into cracking my "opened game" style, and the really simple lesson for me was to play slightly more hands, and when I felt I was ahead to bet strong...particularly to make draws unprofitable. For me this meant playing fewer tables, and sharpening my reads--and trusting them. It also meant laying down those tough hands where you feel its quite possible you are behind, but you just try to muscle them out and run into a monster. Finally, I know my game needs tweaking when I find myself slipping into passive check/calling-mode, which is particularly -EV when you are playing more speculative hands.
I know it's not the same for everyone, but this is what I've learned.
