good spot to try a river a river c/r?

okay he is bad enough to be calling my bets with AA KK QQ trying to slow play, he also has a lot of jacks including jj and AJ, but also some random A highs that hit the river and hit two pairs


plan: he value bets small, i overshove, a lot of his aces call, his two pairs, his sets and QQ kk as well some times since ive been monkeying a lot call

if he checks it back then he prolly has air or a bad J that wouldnt have called my river bet which would usually be like 7$

Its becoming clear to alot of players that setmining oop isnt really worth it anymore, especially in a blind vs btn/co situation. The reasoning is that is fairly hard to balloon the pot and that villain makes less mistakes oop. We have a post flop edge so its still fine, i just wanted to throw that out there.

flop: the boards pretty dry in terms of villain's range, but with that said, if we decided to bet id much rather bet like 2-2.25. Just because we're either getting called by

{Jx, TT+} by betting 2.25, or...well actually i cant really think of too many other hands that would call if we bet smaller. Maybe some air like AK,AQ..

But anyway, for betting 1.25 to be better than 2.50, we'd need to be getting called at least 2x as often without considering the future streets (where larger pots with nut hands is preferable). And just kind of winging it, i dont really think thatd be true.

So if betting out was correct, id like to bet alot more.

Turn: this ones a little closer cuz i can see some jacks folding if we raise bigger. he likely doesnt have too many flush draws either so im not worried about that. meh

river: hrmmmm i think i like betting more still. maybe a gay bet. that way we'd still be able to get some value from the jx's and all his two pair/nut hands would likely raise. i think ur right that he checks back his jx hands so ya..i like leading for like 4-5ish

edit: also i think itd be kind of weird really for him to have QQ+ or AJ at this point so he has a really weak range alot of the time on the river and isnt likely to bluff most of it imo

actually this is a note of how not to play small pps from the blinds, i normally dont call more then 50c so thats bad, dunno what i was doing, also i agree the flop bet is too small, i think 1.75 to 2 is better that 2.5 because its a less obvious overbet, but again youre right i probably lost value.


i actually thought the qq kk aj were pretty possible just because he was playing so weak all the time, anyways i checked river he bet 3$ i shoved he banked and called with qq... but i agree with pretty much everything u say just my gut said that he cud have pretty good right here which u cant really comment on without being at the table i suppose

the checkraise is like super beneficial vs Axs that value the river then call it off but maybe not much else

I don't really like leading the flop here and your bet sizing on both the flop and turn is too small. It's a board where he's probably going to cbet almost his entire range so we're getting more value from all his air. Turn gets tricky though, on a blank probably lead...whereas if it came Q-K-A c/r smallish. Still tough as hell to get value, I think vs really straightforward players you can call with 6's here but if the guy has decent barreling frequencies and is solid then mucking pre is probably best.

i hate c/ring when hands im getting value out of usually (jx) fold to it, leading looks way less strong. presumably over pairs would normally reraise my donk-ish lead although he didnt... hes not at the level where he realizes 75% of the time+ that i checkraise here is a bluff so he just sees it as scary imo... i agree with bad sizing of my bets though
