This is true, and it also means that straight draws are a little more valuable in terms of IMPLIED odds than the number of outs would indicate. You can more often get paid off by your straight (as long as there aren't 4 cards to the straight on the board) than by your flush, because when you open up and bet after a flush card hits, everyone in the back of their mind starts thinking FLUSH!
I should note as well that the flip side of this is that flushes are easier to represent as a bluff because they are usually more obvious than straights.
