    Default Fixed Vs Pot-Limit

I would like to play limit hold ‘em online.

I’ve got about 2 months experience playing and have read a few books. Lost $100 in 5 weeks playing sitandgos and $1/$2 fixed limit. So I’m inexperienced. I was wondering what the pros and cons are of fixed vs. pot limit. Where should I start out?? I’m going to re-deposit another $100 what level should I be playing at?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance,

    Dave

each variation of the game requires a different style of play to win.
I cant really comment on the pro's con's of limit/sngs because i dont play them.. NL caught my eye and i love it.

    some reasons i like NL
profit rate: 15BB/100 hands is sustainable for a solid player, compaired to 1-2BB/100 hands in Limit
More mind games: NL involves more bluffing type strategy and reading people correctly, which for me makes it better. For you that may be a negative aspect.

If you are an inexpierienced player you could quickly drop alot playing NL, but there are alot of idiots out there willing to pay a good player so its worth learning i think.

I started with pot limit when i decided to start playing cash tables.
Pot limit imo benefits those who have draws to big hands like flushes more than does no limit, simply becasue you cant push all in on a nasty flop. But, in that sense you cant lose all your chips on one hand (well rarely anyway)
Pot limit taught me about drawing to better hands against made hands, something which changes staggeringly when you begin to play no limit. Also i leant how to read players and put them on cards because of the way people bet eg someone with the best hand bets the pot while drawers dont. I found this an invaluable tool.
Yet if you have a good bankrole and are willing maybe to learn and pay a fee to learn then play cheap sng's. You get lots of chips to start and your only commiting a small portion of you bankrole in any game. Plus, as you'll find, you need to see a lot of cards before you even begin to understand the game which you will get in sngs. Similarily try cheap buy in mtts and try to learn what a tight game is and play it there. Again you will get to see a lot of situations hopefully for a cheap price.
I found that only when i had an idea of what my personal game was, and i'd read every single post on this site 3 times was i ready to try cash tables. Only my opinion though.
