a few questions about cbetting

1. how big should a cbet be in relation the pot (generally)?
2. i raise 4x BB with AQ/AK preflop, and i get a caller. i'm late position. flop comes out and is very dry (say... 2 5 9 offsuit) and i miss and opponent bets a bit less than the pot. what do i do and what should i put him on?

1. You can't go wrong with about 2/3rds-3/4th of the pot as a general guideline
2. It depends some on the opponent, and he could have a lot of hands. If you see someone doing this a lot then you could consider raising him occasionally to pick off what would likely be a bluff

Check flop, raise turn is a fun line in position against guys who are aware of flop c-bet games.

while it's fine as far as denying proper pot odds goes, you don't want to bet so small that you start to induce bluffs, and 1/2 pot looks a lot more appetizing to bluffy opponents than 3/4 does. and it doesn't really change against bad players.

i think its fine if we play vs these clueless donks cuz they suck at poker. Sometimes, i even threw out little blocking bet with good drawing hand on the turn after my cb got called on flop.

Maybe try a delayed c-bet. Check flop and bet the turn.

When he bets small without a draw he is most likely seeing if you have a pair, cause he has a piece of the flop. You can raise him but you should at least call since you can probably take away the pot on the turn.
