You don't need to become anything in Holdem. If you actually read the post you would note:
"become the aggressive player when the timing and position are correct." .
And again:
"Decisions depend so much on the past plays, image and reads of both you and the other players that you should do what feels right."
And Wait one more:
"Switch gears often and go from TAG to LAG and back to TAG depending on the situation and position."
And Wait lets rap it up with:
"Again sorry for a general and incomplete answer.
The more info you provide the better answers we can give."
I do like your informative post:
"You don't need to be aggressive versus aggressive players in general. Let them bluff all they want, and have a wider calling range."
And so very encouraging to a new member:
"Ask better questions OP."
Now by chance if I misinterpreted your "LOL@above post".
and it was referring to someone or something else then by all means I apologize.
But even if it was, the condescending and discouraging remark to a new member should not be tolerated on a Fantastic Site as FTR.
Please refrain yourself from making others look bad and trying to elevate yourself by using hit and run posts.
Your goal and as all our goals should be: Be as Helpful, Encouraging and Respectfully as we can be to other fellow members.
If you think the only way to play an aggressive player is to become weak and tight. Holding on with a wider range, hoping to catch some cards and at the same time that the aggressor must miss his hand.
I have no issue with that advice.
I may disagree or agree but I respect your thoughts and opinions.
All is good.
The OP seemed to feel the aggressor had a edge on him.
I'm sure he was playing tight because he saw the other player as being aggressive. Obviously he himself was not play aggressive.
Either way We all play in our own styles and what works for you or me may or may not work for others. That the beauty of Holdem.
Please don't take this post in the wrong manner.
I'm just voicing my point of view.
Please try to encourage others on this forum and welcome them into one of the best forums on the net.
At the very least we should Agree to Disagree .....
