Best Line with 2 Pair

Hello all,

Whats the best line to take when flopping 2 pair. My impression ( no stats to back this up) that whenever I flop 2 pair they rarely hold up, however when I hit my second pair on the turn or river they usually hold up.

Over the past two days I got busted playing a flopped 2 pair like a low set with a scary board. Pushing them hard. ( one in a S&G the other playing 6 handed 50NL ring)

One time in BB with Q,6 the other time on a steal with J,9.

Flops: hit my two pair ... board uncoordinated ... both times opp had KK.

Both times I got my money in while ahead ( GOOD ? ) Both time the board paired the rag on the river ( BAD LUCK ? ).

I believe I have heard on FTR to proceed with caution while holding 2 pair ??
