bb/100?

Was wondering what numbers would be considered average-killing it at 10nl

I've played around 9k hands at this level 2 tabling with 6bb/100 and i'm contemplating playing 25nl

I guess i'm just looking to see where i'm at?

20bb/100 hands is killing it. IMO.

Expect your bb/100 to drop as you move up in levels. So, your 25NL bb/100 might be 3bb/100, and -bb/100 @ 50NL.

I'd expect 20BB/100 at 10NL if all you do is limp AA-22, play them for set value, and fold all other hands.

Final Pot: $73.75

Results in white below:
Hero has Ac Ad (two pair, aces and sixes).
MP2 has Kd Js (one pair, sixes).
Outcome: Hero wins $47.26. MP2 wins $26.14.

Even if you are a total shark, 20bb is unreasonable over the longterm. If you can maintain 10-12bb/100 over more than 20k hands at 10nl or 25nl, you are murdering the game in cold blood.

Hehe, no. Usually most people will have around the buyin, a couple of shortstacks and one or two bigger stacks ($35-50). What had happened here is that Villain (the one I doubled up through) felt like some Friday night gamb00ling was in order and went all in pre flop on about half his hands. He was up to 4 buyins when I sat down, and BB had doubled up through him just before this hand. This maniac is of course why I limped AA instead of raising it, he usually folded to a preflop raise.

Over my first 5k hands, small sample I know, I am running at 20ptbb/100 at $10NL and think that 15+ is sustainable if you are paying attention to your play and fixing your leaks. Im not planning on moving up to $25NL unless I run at over 15ptbb/100 over 10k hands at $10NL, and I think I should be at that by early next week.

Cheers guys my first 4k hands at 10nl i was running at 45bb/100 smoking hot i know! (not sustainable) since then i have been real cold and my big hands have lost more money than they have made kk is at 26% for a loss of about 30 dollars and thats not just up against aces either its qq 55 44 and even kj has busted em

What i'm saying is 9k hands enough for a decent enough sample size or not, because i know i have hit some major variance the last 3-4k hands, i know i can beat this game easy even from just set camping but i want to advance my poker skills or am i just wasting my time at this level? because some of the calls that people have made against me are terrible

What sample size would be enough at this level to balance out the luck of the donkey so to speak.

I personally think that 10k is enough hand to show whether or not you are a winner, but you need way more than that to determine long term winrate. I would say with those stats you are definitely capable of beating this game, you just have to play a lot more hand to see just how much you can beat it by. Add guess between 50k and 100k is a good sample size, I could be way off though

I had 6k hands at 40+BB/100, followed by 4k hands of exactly the opposite. In that 10-hand period I averaged about 4BB/100, and that's the key figure here.

25nl is easier than 10nl. 2.5x the money, more (slightly) predictable play, better implied odds since you don't have to raise 10x the big blind to narrow the field.


just move up if you have 500 bucks, seriously.

10NL is fun, though.

I like playing the .05/.10 game at absolute with a 200BB buy-in. Of course, I find myself making a ton of loose flop calls...

me too!

I think everyone gets pissed at me though when I go all in every other hand and eventually proceed to stack 3 people at once with K4s... (true story)

5bbs/100 is killing any game according to pocket2s
personally, on the rebuild i ran at 20bbs/100. ABout 10-20k

I agree with Renton. I have a friend that is just starting, so I play 1 $10 NL table with him while I am 3-tabling $50 NL. I'm running about 12BB/100 at $50NL over the last 3k hands (small sample and I'm running a little hot, but I just moved up). Meanwhile I'm barely breaking even on that stupid $10 table. Half the time it doesn't even feel like I'm playing poker. Move up as soon as you are rolled for it.

Hah ... and I thought it was just me ... moved up to 25NL couple of months ago. First 4K hands were 20BB/100 ... last 4K ... zero zip nada. Can't seem to hit a set, a str8, or a flush. If I get AA, KK, or QQ, it seems everyone folds to my PFR or they hold on, as one player did, calling my 1X and 2X pot sized bets and hits a runner runner str8 and take my stack.

It has been frustrating to say the least and I have had thoughts of just cashing out and doing something else. But part of me says ... keep playing your game, it works, and just wait out the downturn. However, another part of me says ... well I'm not really sure what it's saying really.
