    Default Bankroll Management Sanity Check

Yeah I know, I just want to feel warm and fuzzy...

Last 20k hands at 25nl i been running at about 8bb/100.

I am approaching 25 buyins for 50nl. My initial plan was to move up at 30 buyins but Im feeling like I need a change and some new motivation.

Is it horrible to move up at 25 buyins and then make 1k my "move back down" point (which hopefully wont be used)?

I wouldn't say it's horrible, but I would personally not move up until I hit 30 just to make sure I gave myself a full chance (10 buy-ins) to succeed. Two of the most important aspects of moving up is developing confidence and having time to do so. Good luck, though.

I used 20 buyins as my move up and 15 as my move down as I went along. Hard to say if it was better or worse since I cant compare.
Just dipping my toes back in.

It's a confidence thing. Push the envelope as long as you're comfortable imo.

Instead of using the number of buy-ins as a reference to when to move up, why not use your comfort level at 25NL? You said in the LAST 20K hands, you've been running at 8bb/100. Who's to say this isn't simply a heater? How have you been running before these 20K hands? I think these are more important questions to ask yourself before moving up.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

Waht will make you happier, more buy ins and less stress if things start out bad, or less and taking a shot. 25 is enough if your good enough to beat the game and smart enough to move down. Like Boog said, what's the comfort level. Hell I've made some aggressive BR moves this time around but I have played these stakes before and don't really see a difference in them, but that's me. Just remember your not a $50NL player until your beating the stake for a significant amount of hands, your a $25NL player taking a shot no matter how many BI's you have. So moving back to the stake you can beat is reasonable and not a fail.
