Two applicable statements to a lot of hold'em subjects: opponent specific and seeing the answers stunts your growth.

In NL 6m I like to say that you don't defend blinds, but it's ok to steal them. I don't defend against a steal, I 3bet a steal.

The question you should be asking is "how do we decide who is stealing and who is not?" or "What value is there in 3betting loose stealers?" or anything else along those lines that will get you to where you need to be thinking.

3-betting is defence
so is calling when you have an understanding of villain's stealing range and postflop play and figure that calling optimises ev

3bet is offense and it's about stealing from a positional raiser with a wide range

got it - just a terminology thing.
I defend my blinds by 3-betting - the whole "offence is the best defence (sometimes!)" thing... doesn't really matter what you call it

Actually no. I am not throwing out 11-13 BB's to protect my SB or BB and play big pot OOP. My 3bet goal is to take advantage of his playing much looser in position and being unable to continue quite often since he is raising light. and take a 5BB+ pot.

You never just call in the blinds to a stealer, jyms? Esp. in the BB?
