AK gets squeezed ($10NL).

Villain was 28/11 over 82 hands, had only 3-bet once before, also from the BB, and the original raiser had folded. Is this a good spot to 4-bet, or is it usually a monster hand when people do this at $10NL?

Button: ($8.05)
SB: ($10.13)
BB: ($17.33)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A , K .
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.40, 1 fold, Button calls $0.40, 1 fold, BB raises to $1.70, Hero ??

What hands do you think he does this with? You need to come up with a range. Preflop is the easiest to figure equity on.

I probably wouldn't assume that ppl even know what a squeeze is at 10nl

Given the fact its a pretty sizeable 3bet, he's going to be oop postflop and he's only 3b 1 hand in 82 so far I give him some credit. Maybe I'm just a FR nit. Even though we're IP I think its goign to be diffcult for us to stack him post flop if we have him beat if we call.

I don't think we have much fold equity if we shove and his calling range is goign to be like QQ+/AK, which I think he has a lot here.

We have 38% equity vs that range so a shove would have to have 40.40 FE vs the range I game to be 0EV.. I think

Don't be one of those players that over values AK. This situation is extremely str8forward. You open raise from a UTG position and get 3bet huge by one of the blinds. Even if villain is completely unknown you'd still have to give that play some respect. Unless you KNOW villain is very LAGish, AK is an easy lay down.

I have difficulty when I have QQ / JJ in that spot. I've bled off a lot of chips cos at best it is a race. I lost on the low flops to the overpair, and then there are the times when overcards flop. It seems to be just a guessing game. That is part of the reason QQ is a losing hand for me.

This is basically it. I would lay this down unless I had a very specific read (i.e., I had actually seen this player 3-bet from the blinds with a questionable hand) that allowed me to put my AK in front of much of his range.

Well, at $10NL, a 3-bet is usually AA or KK from what I've experienced so far. I just folded here, but was wondering if I'm getting pushed around too much. I know it's probably pretty obvious to you guys what to do.

So, is 3-betting without a massive hand just something that happens at the higher limits?

I think a flat here is fine. JJ and QQ are in his range as well. With the limper in there it actually opens his range a bit. 4bet/fold is too weak, just folding seems pretty weak also...evaluate flop IMO
